Hello there people, i started playing nostalrius when it released, but i stopped playing because of the insane ganking in STV back at the time (i played a lvl 30+ warrior on the alliance side). I know that the population is even bigger than before, but i'll play something that makes ganking less of an issue (mage, rogue).

Some questions :

-Maybe it's a better idea to go to the pve server to avoid that, but the thing is i actually like pvp, and world pvp, and i doubt that i'm going to see a lot of this on the pve server.

-Am i too late? I mean, the AQ40 event is near, and i won't even be there to enjoy it (leveling takes quite some time), plus i'm probably gonna get trained at lvl 60 due to people having much better gear than me. On the pve server, at least, i can catch up, since BWL is not even out, but again, the pvp there seem to be ..... meh

-The population seems waaaayyyyy too big on the pvp server (damn, 12000 people online Oo), is the experience really worth it? The toxicity must be sky high, as well as the struggle to level.

So those are the issues i have, would you have any advice?

Thanks a lot.

What are saying is true about PvP on the PvE server. While the PvE server has less delay and a much easier leveling experience, world PvP is almost non-existent and the BG scene basically consists of a handful of players farming ranks.

If you enjoy PvP and will want to do it at 60, you should play on the PvP server. However, make no mistake, the PvP server is a hardcore experience. Doing anything in highly populated areas such as farm spots and dungeons is difficult if you are solo. And you will almost always need to PvP to get where you are going or accomplish your task.

As for being "too late," you're definitely not. Private servers have high player turnover rates. New guilds are constantly forming and existing guilds are constantly recruiting players. The content is 11 years old, so LOADS of guilds farm it.

If you have pre-raid BiS and a brain then you can easily catch up to gear levels in 2-3 months of raising regularly.
