Ínstance mob experience

Forgive, that despite having played without broke through vanilla, from day one, til TBC, that I don't remember this but:

Did mobs REALLY yield equal to, or less experience then regular mobs?

Yes, you are in a group so the exp is split, which means it is actually a lot more experience than you think. If a normal mob gives 200xp while you are soloing and then in a 5 man dungeon you are getting 200xp per mob, the mob is actually giving out 1000xp (not exactly since there should be a group bonus etc. but w/e). Getting normal or close to normal exp in a dungeon is pretty good as far as I'm concerned

IIRC the mob xp is something like this. Correct me with the exact figures but.

Where X = mob xp per kill.

X / 1 player.
X / 2 players.
X / 3 players.
Then for 4+ it modifies the base XP of the mob like so.
X*(1.5) / 4 players.
X*(1.5) / 5 players.

I forget the actual multiplier to the base XP, but there WAS a bonus to grouping up 4+ for world bosses/quests/instances.

There was actually a post here about just this fact, and how it is not working correctly here.

Now, this is all IIRC and I ask you do fact check me, but the OP might be referencing this fact, if you even care.

May need to check on the edits in case they nerfed exp throughout the expansions, but this does look legit on the Lua calculation.

Thanks for this, its exactly what I was referencing. There's an entire thread where this is sorted out.

I really don't have much time to devote to the forum after my /vote protest took up so much personal time. Sorry guy's.
