Preferred pace of PvE content release?

by Mryul » Tue Mar 24, 2015 11:06 am

As titled, which pace of content release do you prefer?

Currently the new tier of raiding content will be released shortly after a single guild on both factions have cleared the end boss of a raid.

Since we are bound to have a guild on both sides that is very likely to clear the content instantly after release, do you prefer the current tier release or would you prefer for Nostalrius to implement more tier release gates such as a higher guild requirement or simply a longer wait timer after clearance?

At current, we'll probably be seeing Naxx in less than 8 months and AQ in less than 5 months.

On one hand we shouldn't gate the content too much for poopsock guilds, but on the other hand why should a server with 7000 population rush through all the content just for the sake of 80 people? People who may even just leave for another server to poopsock there once done here.

At this rate Nos might not last very long.

Besides, poopsock guilds will still have an edge since they'll have the raid on farm much ealier than everyone else.

This server shouldn't serve as a content race emulator for 80 people. People want to experience the content releases, tier by tier. Else we would not have come here and I'm afraid many people will soon go elsewhere when they find out they won't. People don't want to invest a ton of time into a x1 Vanilla server just to experience Feenix's Al'akir all over again.

AQ will definitely be this summer. Great time for the war effort tbh...

Naxx in 8 months? That would be insane, insta one-shot in bgs. I'd rather see 6 months between tier release, then the vast mojority of the server will have a chance to catch up and gear up for the next tier.

I would say a mix, slow it up a bit but nothing crazy say 3 guilds from each faction need to clear MC/ONY before the next thing is added. should help with the tryhards / people who have the time. also that way you will be talking about 240 people not just 80. seems a bit more fair and the time should not be much longer. and yes those in mc now IE: grizzly will i'm sure not be happy about any slowing but so what they are at best 100 out of 7-8 THOUSAND. and with a bit slower pace that would mean more time for the devs to bug fix or make sure things are 100% and that would make for a better Nos.

just my 3 cents.

I would say 3 months between each kill, also don't take the fact that Grizzly, Mizzly, Fizzly or any guild that got server firsts will stay on top forever, the fact that they had quicker level up and some skill doesn't mean that they are any better than some other guilds that atm just lack the people. If you want to rank guilds do it after BWL.

Bug and talent tree fixes need done before content release should even be talked about.

There's what, 100 people progressing in MC? 200? Like 6000 others or more experiencing bug issues right now.

I would make it like this

MC clear -> 3 months BWL

BWL clear -> 2 months -> War effort start (war effort would last 2-3 months)

AQ40 clear -> 4 months -> Naxx

This would give a Naxx around winter 2015-2016

High end raiding is more active during the winter months ismy experience. Because a part of the 'no lifers' community has some life outdoors in the summer.

Some good points, none necessarily best.

Personally I'd like to have it be about 3 guilds on both sides and a little longer wait time between content release.

I'm getting the vibe that this server is rushing through content and will very soon no longer be relevant, which is sad for something that could last for very long. I feel this rushed content will push away many people that will move to other progression servers, now that they are opening up almost left and right.

I can't think of any good reason to rush through the content like this.

This is starting to feel more like a 'see how fast you can rush through vanilla' and then be done with it, rather than experiencing vanilla wow again and enjoying it. A lasting experience and place you can play for a very long time.

I think it'll push many people away very quickly if we rush through content, making everything obsolete super fast.

We have to keep in mind that x1 vanilla servers are places that people have to invest a lot of times into.. I don't think it's going to be healthy for the longevity of the server if we then choose to rush through the content.
