Nostalrius Begins - Quality wow vanilla realm (1.12)

So I got these strange whispers from a character named "eso," and they appeared to be very upset about something. I wouldn't have given it much notice - maybe some ally? - if it weren't for his grandiose claims. So this "eso" man collects himself and goes to to claim some kind of power over all the GMs on this server and he is going to make it his life mission to make sure I never ever raid MC.

I tried to find out more about this fanciful claim and what it is about, but he had put me on ignore as well. I can only guess that (based on the notions and fantasies he appeared primarily concerned with) this is a control issue for him. It makes him feel in charge of a stressful social situation to force me to respond through a third person while he's free to flame me to his heart's content.

And this all wouldn't have been worth a thread either but I found out this individual actually is a guild master. And the reason he was so upset was - wait for it - because I had given some of his guildies a timeout from the world chat for trying to ruin it.

I encourage everyone to please be safe and nice to each other out there. If someone you know has been targeted by this alleged "cyber mafia" conducting "e-wars," please tell them to
share their stories to the amusement of all.

Are you conducting a "cyber mission" right now?

I wonder if all women on nostalrius face this kind of harassment or if it is only some of us. In any case it's distasteful and egregious. Why is it so hard for white male nerd gamers to allow people of marginalized backgrounds access to this wide and varied gaming landscape that in no way endangers their precious feelings or particular tastes.

Furries are emotionally unstable by default. You probably said something distasteful about bears or wolves and inadvertently insulted their entire guild.

Don't concern about it, this server has the most toxic people i ever met in any Wow server since i started playing 10 years ago. Deal with it if you want to keep playing here.

I didn't find out until later that this eso guy actually "controls" "e-warriors" within his guild (which had some kind of furry name but I forget atm) so I didn't take screenshots. Yeah, furry cyber mafia - the world is a strange place. But I got the very strong impression that his psychological profile is of the type that won't deny or feel any shame about what happened.

That's the right word for it now that you mention it. It's a toxic environment jam packed with triggers and microaggressions, and this is fostered by an unregulated white male nerd gamer crowd being allowed to run rampant with no checks or balances from more progressive people.

The situation sounds problematic, to say the least. Hopefully the GMs will be able to help you, we all know that if you allow this problem to fester the community as a whole will become more and more toxic over time.
