Question about server ethics

by Hydra9268 » Tue Mar 24, 2015 8:56 pm

Hi. This question goes to GMs (or any members of Nostalrius) regarding one of the most serious sanction class: "F".

Organized killing for farming rank and/or honor,

How do you distinguish between this and general ganking? I've been the victim of what seems like organized killing runs for HK in Thousand Needles, Stranglethorn Vale, and Desolace but in my anger I simply discarded it as players doing mean things.

Thank you for any insight you can provide.

I dont understand why that would even be punishable...

So I cant go to ogrimar and be like who wants to join a raid to kill some allies in lets say Duskwood???
Isnt that a huge part of the world pvp???

There are way worse things going on on this server that need to be handle first imo

Generally ganking is murdering people for the sake of murdering.

Organized killing implies an agreement between two parties. For example, say one guild is trying to down chromagus but needs sand. Another guild offers them the sand in exchange for helping one of their members get standing 1 by feeding him kills.

Hello Hydra9268,

To answer your question let's start with an example:
* Person A creates an account.
* Person A creates a character.
* Person A creates another account.
* Person A creates another character on the second account.
* Person A keeps killing his/her character on the second account with his/her character on the first account.

This is what we call 'Organized killing for farming rank and/or honor'. What you are referring to are players organizing groups and/or raids to farm honor which is more commonly known as world PvP.

I hope this answered your question.

Best regards,

Thank you. Much more clearer. I take it such behavior would happen in hidden places away from the view of others, but I will keep an eye open for it and report it if I see it.

We appreciate all the help we can get from you, the players. As we do not have eyes in all corners, we actually depend a lot on you.

Thank you for reporting any malicious activity that you may find roaming the streets and jungles of Azeroth.

DUDE! You're not supposed to tell them that! Don't you have kids or pets or something? You have to make them think you've got eyes EVERYWHERE man.

Hello Armilus,

I'm sure you were all confounded regarding my answer, but how would you know if I am telling the truth? All of this might have been my plan all along. The abusers and rule-breakers are now roaming Azeroth believing that Nostalrius aren't watching.
