Items/assets from exploits

Firstly, I am glad to hear the recent announcement on how exploits will be handled, but the announcement fails to capture what will happen to the items/assets that have been obtained from exploiting. Whatever happens in this case should be clearly outlined and properly brought to the attention of the players so that future cases can be handled swiftly and without problem.
If a player that has exploited, and received an item, reports himself to a GM, what happens to the item? If a player that unknowingly exploits and receives an item and reports himself, what happens to the item? Will players who have previously knowingly exploited receive a sanction regardless of whether or not they report themselves? In any case of items/assets gained from an exploit, what happens to said item/asset?
It is my opinion that any advantage gained from an exploit should be rescinded. Players that exploit, knowingly or unknowingly, should not gain an advantage, at any point in time, over other players that have not exploited. This is a matter of policy, and if at any moment a violation of these policies is upheld in any manner, the integrity and the fairness of the game is brought into question. Once the fairness of the game is brought into question, the competitiveness of the game is threatened, and the experience ruined for many.
If a staff member could be answer the aforementioned concerns, that would be greatly appreciated by myself and many others.

Considering that Viper has stated that exploited/duped gold has already been deleted few times, I think it's safe to assume that same applies to items gained in a similar way.

It is to my best knowledge that some players still have items from exploits in their possession. Primarily in the recent fiasco revolving around Ragnaros exploits.
It is my concern that they will be allowed to keep these items even though the process of those items being acquired may have involved an exploit.
The Nostalrius staff needs to explicitly state what will happen in any scenario involving exploiting and also what will happen with respect to the previous kills on Ragnaros.

In other threads I've suggested Ragnaros' loot table be purged from account inventory. Any item, any account regardless of who and for what reason. This is not the same as banning players but at the same time it removes items that were clearly obtained from bugged content. I think this is a good compromise.

This is what needs to happen in order to uphold the rule of no exploiting. If players are allowed to keep these items, it validates those exploits and sets unfair rules for people who are punished for exploits later on.

What a joke. Guilds exploit rag and they are not banned? And they have loot from him? LOL WHAT THE FUCK. Good job guys. You dont even finish the scripting but you leave loot on the last boss in the instance. These devs need to talk to someone that actually played vanilla.

Please refrain from bashing, it is not the subject of this thread. I'm sure investigations and actions are still pending on the issue.
This thread is to get a answers to the aforementioned question in the OP, and to get an explicit guideline that can be followed for future cases of exploits.

Holy shit, a reasonable, well-tempered person asking a perfectly valid question in a non-aggresive manner in the General section of the forums. Miracles do come true..

I agree. Waiting for answers...
