Nostalrius Begins - Quality wow vanilla realm (1.12)

Apparently GM's have allowed casinos to be advertised ingame through yells and world/tradechat.

Casinos seem to have proliferated on nostal and they are as annoying as hell, not to mention obnoxious when these people try to relieve kids of their gold who have no idea how probability/chance works.


Why GM's are allowing it is beyond me. They weren't allowed to be advertised on retail either.

Kinda tired of cleaning up my ignore list to add new casino bs spammers every day.

I thought casinos was indeed forbidden here already (since it was bannable in retail) - give me a source where GMs say casino's are legal please.

Someone claimed he had screenshot proof of a GM giving him permission to advertise his casino.

I didn't actually see the ss, but the casinos being so widespread and not having seen any bans/warnings rolling out shows no action is being taken

i remember people advertising and i remember participating in casinos in retail BC

the only GM response has been from GM Cantrip who has since left the team.

Just because you saw it doesn't mean they didn't get warned/banned for it. It's been in blizzard's policy since the start afaik

blizzard has carebear policies that protect people who dont understand casino "scams" (statistics)
blizzard doesnt have free accounts to make alts on

Blizzard banning casinos has nothing to do with people not understanding how gambling works. It's because it leads to some major spamming if you don't (That's why things like guild raffles are ok)

Just look at the blue post in the OP, it clearly says it's about spam.

The staff have said publicly they allow in game casinos, even though retail did not. The reason retail did not was because of the spamming but more because of the amount of tickets they would receive when getting scammed and people not paying up.

The rules here really don't make sense they seem to just make them up as they go along.
