Helping friends

I've heard a lot on the forums on the subject of being banned for playing with "brothers" and "friends." However my buddy does want to get into the game.

If we do get carelessly banned for playing together is there any way IP can be used as evidence to show that we're not in the same physical location. I understand there's ways to show your IP is elsewhere, but I'm just trying to avoid being banned for playing with my friend. Thanks.

If your IPs are different, you will have no issue. The complaints are people with 'brothers' or 'friends' in the same house, or IP. I grouped with a retail guildie from level 1-19 with no issue. He lives in Texas and I in Arizona. We were grouped the whole time. Really made the low level grind that much easier, as we did most if it through vent, so there was really no communication in game either.

Hi,
People are not banned for playing with friends etc.
You can perfectly play with hour friend(s) !
You can check the terms of use and the faq for more answers regarding this.
But even five people in the same house under the same ip have no issue with playing here.

You can get a warning if you are multiboxing (controlling multiple accounts by 1 user)
Or buying/selling gold and accounts etc that will result in a ban.

Bet regards!

But afaik Mobtagging isnt allowed too. Therefore if the friend starts a new character and you try to catch up with each other the higher level with bomb the lower level through the areas. Isnt that a bannable offense?

No unless it involves exploiting game mechanics and as long as both characters are played by actual human beings who respond if/when a GM asks them something.

Sidenote: my personal favourite is they guy who claims his "friend" wasn't botting even though he didn't respond to a GM query because "he didn't feel like talking".

Maybe he had a cluttered ui like below O.o

On a serious note, some of the stories these botters and multiboxers come up with are hilarious though...

There's a point in the vid where the bot responds to the GM with something along the lines of "I'm very busy and I don't have time to speak", GM responds to this and the bot said something like "I already told you, I'm busy so I have to ignore you now."

Albeit the bot was banned because you can't /ignore GMs, it just proves there's more than a GM talking to the botter after watching this.

Not true, no warning was given and BOTH accounts were banned. Don't multibox, kids.

I played 1-60 with my brother, we logged in at the same time in the mornings and logged off the same time in the evenings every day on the same connection. We were never had more than maybe 10% xp difference all the way to 60 and we've not been banned or investigated by gms(as far as we know)
