vanilla newb quest levelling

I started retail on Cata and know only Cata content and later. But Cata and later were so dull for quest levelling that I never got a toon past level 47. My first taste of Vanilla has been refreshing because of the solid content, the challenging fights and the excellent guild I've lucked into. The fact that I don't know Vanilla at all makes quest levelling feel like a true adventure (although my guildies are helping me figure out some of the more difficult puzzles about Vanilla). The challenge of getting gold and gear is a bonus after an intermittent five years of retail's overinflated economy and cheap gear upgrades and ridiculously OP buffs.

On retail I tended to play dwarf warriors so that's what I rolled here. I have since learned that dwarf warriors are not the best race-class combo in Vanilla, but I plan to stick with mine until and unless levelling him further becomes impossible. I love the fact that I'm back at zero and learning my race and class all over again and exploring brand new terrain and content through levelling. My interest in end game content such as raids is currently zero.

So I'm wondering whether there are other people in my position and with my outlook. If you are like me, please speak up and we can talk here.

Don't worry, dwarf warriors are totally fine.
There are plenty of newbies on the server, you'll be able to find a casual or social guild easily

I already found an excellent guild, and was even able to trade some treasure with a passing toon in exchange for a much better weapon (albeit a pally weapon, but beggars can't be choosers).

The only true drawback I've experienced so far is one ad hoc teaming up on a quest with a toon whose player acted like he was bored and just wanted to get the quest over with. Despite being a hunter he kept running off into the distance and pulling mobs and soloing them while I was still looting and skinning the last mob, so that I had no time to charge and tank the mob. I guess I'll have to screen my ad hoc party members for true interest in the game as opposed to boredom.
