ill send you my IBAN number and paypal account.
ill make sure its distributed evenly amongst pubs in my neighbourhood.
nah, to be serious.
im not sure and i don't think that is the intention to have it.
if there ever will be something with donations i don't hope it will be something linked to anything ingame or buying your way in the game or staff.
until there is no "blue post" there is no knowing what will happen.
since if it will happen to be linked to the game, blizzard will jump on their necks.
blizzards is not really actively hunting server that are just using the game, when they try to make money of it, you are in the danger zone.

You will not be able to buy anything with donations.
No gear, no instant 60 etc (I was told this by the staff during the hack session) - I think that's peoples main concern.
As the poster above me has said, Emerald Dream used to open their donations now and then so they could cover the server rent and stuff like that. There's a few private servers that has come in legal trouble (WoWScape) for making money on their services.
Anyways, I don't think it is in the dev teams interest to profit off of this project. A good guess is that we will be able to buy ( or pay a 'administrative fee' ) for faction changes, race changes etc.

TBH i hope that no donations ever will be used to pay for faction, race change etc, as it's not blizzlike.
I have great faith in this server and if it stands up to the expectations I'm happy to donate for the great effort and upkeep of the server.

I hope they just introduce what other emulator projects have - a donation counter (xxx donated this month, xx% out of the 400 euro goal). Alternatively, if this doesn't cover the costs, do non-intrusive things like changing faction, name, race etc. Alot of us have adult economies and are willing to invest in our hobbies, so ensuring that the finances of the project isn't a concern should be trivial.

Hours played should somehow tally up and maybe use that as currency for such things as:
Race Change
Faction Change
