Will Nostalrius developers be allowing both Horde and Alliance characters to be on the same server at the same time?

I would prefer it to be strict Alliance OR Horde, however there is nothing stopping people from creating another free account and playing Alliance on one account and Horde on the other. Maybe it would be in their best interest to just allow it?

I think they should allow it, simply for the reason you gave. Accounts are free, people will just make another account anyway.

Isn't this a PvP server? By default, rolling both on same account isn't allowed. This one aspect of retail you aren't copying?

It doesn't make any difference here, Drain. The point of that function on retail was to avoid people rolling both sides on a PvP server to shit talk or 'cause drama over in-game. And also to avoid spying on other faction members with level 1s and /who commands, whispers, etc. It could also have been to avoid certain trading between factions and probably more things I'm forgetting right now.

However, in private servers you can already make as many accounts as you want, so it doesn't make any difference whether you allow both horde and alliance on the same account or not. As everyone will create secondary accounts anyways for bankers or other faction members to spy on other faction or whatever foul tactics you employ. :p

I know. I just assumed they've turned it off to be as Blizzlike as possible and leave you to make a second account.
