An old rogues perspective and hello :)

Greetings! This is a hello and a rant/ideas about rogues.

So I had the urge to do PvP while resting from study and work. I played D2:LoD but it wasnt as fun anymore.
So I packed out WoW which I played from mid 2005 till TBC sunwell and had fun till world pvp died (screw flying mounts and resilence/arena which had a big impact on peoples e-peen and pvp in general)
In retail I mained a human rogue and had an alt dwarf holy paladin for guild needs. Played a bit on priv servers too.

After searching and trying feenix, vanillagaming, vengeance and rebirth I found this soon to be released server. Well the latter two servers was alright, just low pop on vengeance and rebirth appearently had staff drama stuff. Considered playing on rebirth tho, a bit impatient ya know. But this server really looks promising to relive the progress of pre-bc once more! Thanks for this oppurtunity, devs it seems you do an amazing job!
So greetings fellow players and staff, I look foreward to playing with ya all if I can wait it out :)
Still cant decide on rogue, shadowpriest or mage, or maybe try some other class... Its a headeach xD
Anyway stop reading now if you dont want to read my rant about rogues.

-----------------------------------------------------------

Rogues are said to need no skill.
This is my experiences and some tactics for playing a rogue in pvp, call it guidelines. I wont discuss talent builds, just mere ideas.

Engineering is awesome. Goblin or gnome dont matter.
Level that first aid, even healers should just in case.

To be cheap: Stunlock, time ya energy and stuns and blow ya CDs out of ya ass, remember to spec for preparation so ya can feel skilled. I wont tell ya how to stunlock, watch a video and while ya are at it, uninstall WoW and vanish please. You give the rogue class a bad reputation and name because of your lack or will of skill - Seriously uninstall WoW. And do it now.

Anyway always apply poison to your weapons. Number one rule.
In pvp, crippling poison is amazing, apply to your off hand which should be faster than your main hand for fast poison on ya enemies. Unless your using a stack poison or other approach. You can seriously kite people with that poison. To bleed and poison kite a warrior to death while trying to catch ya and scream in agnoy is a good feeling. Remember to do the dance!

Crippling poison should be obligatory, but it varies by circumstances.
Mind-numbing poison, its like smoking too much weed and expressing an idea which goes wack when ya open your mouth. Its good agaisnt healers and casters, also druid, let them waste mana while they remove the poison, then apply again.
Wound poison, almost obligatory in BGs because of healers, it is also good against healers in general. Force them to waste mana.
Deadly poison, its good for alot of things, especially against other rogues and feral druids, apply the DoT so they cant restealth. Also good against warriors and heavy armors. Usefull agaisnt healers.
Instant poison, are you kidding me? Not a good option in pvp.

Combo points, you dont always need a 4-5 point finisher. A 3 point coldblood or just crit with evis can wreck disaster too.

Spice it up man! Rogues dont only got cheap shot, ambush, backstab, sinister strike, evis, kidney shot, blind, evasion, sprint, kick or gouge. We can do so much more.
Ever tried applying mass bleed effect of garrote, deadly poison and rapture on a healer infected with mind-numbing poison, while they try to cleanse the poison and/or heal while you swing slice&dice and keep tipping at their health with new raptures and deadly poison. Listen closely, and hear their frustration while ya kick and gouge or kidney shot their heals.

Seriously rogues dont stunlock, unless they atleast outgear or outlevel you alot. Learn our potential, talent builds spice it even more up. So show some unique approachs and respect so I can be proud or get some competitions for a non-stunlocker rogue and smile.

Sorry for the wall of text hitting ya face and mind^^

Indeed man, there are many oppurtunities. I cant decide either man, its hard ya know. Vanilla rogue got so many possible ways to be played. I always liked Kenions style, Grims style is nice too. But we gotta spice it up^^

Its possible dude, depending on skill and build ofc, and shit always happend. One bad mistake and its over. Always use speed enchant on boots, or go extreme and get goblin rocket boots. Time the energy, 20 energy each 2nd sec or tick. If you got Riposte, the warrrior aint as scary. Never use evasion incase of Improved Overpower. Stay in the intercept dead zone, atleast try. What makes it possible is crippling poison vs hamstering. 70% speed reduction against 50%. And you always got sprint to neutralise it.
But yeah I have failed almost as many times as I have succeded.

Oh indeed. I was just being facetious as I wanted to shoehorn World of Roguecraft in for lols. The dark stabbing arts remain as nebulous as ever to this jaded gnome!

No matter how good you think you are or how bulletprof your tactics may seem, there is always someone better. Also, luck plays a good part in any situation.
