PvP server guide to PVE

I was inspired to write this after conversing with a frustrated player around level thirty. Once you hit thirty it's time for the contested zones. What can you do to still enjoy the PvE process when you have the threat of PvP looming?

A) Be mindful of your location. It's very tempting to want to get your quests done as quickly as possible. However, these spots can sometimes be dominated by the opposing faction. The best way to get your quests done when they are crawling with the other team is to either come back at another time or to group up with your allies. Broadcast in general chat that you are looking for other people to complete the quest you are on. If you've waited a long time and can't find a partner, stick to the outskirts of the area and try your best to not be seen. The safest places to gain xp are the least popular because the threat of a PvP encounter drops immensely. Grind, grind, and grind some more for that XP / coin.

B) Broadcast in general for help Got a quest you're working on and don't want to deal with the other team? Bring some help. Other players who need the quest will not only make the quest easier, but they will greatly reduce the risk of being attacked by the opposing faction. Most PvP encounters happen when the aggressor knows that he or she will come out victorious. Two against one is not the greatest set of odds. Team up and do quests of grind to gain your xp.

C) Come Prepared and Stay Prepared Always be mindful that when you're xping, the threat of PvP looms all the time. When you're in town, grab some potions, scrolls, and buffs. Don't just prepare for what the mobs will do to you, prepare if a rogue or a enemy spell caster decides to take you down. Never XP without the highest level of healing potion your level can use. Always have your buffs up and be mindful of their timers. This next one is the most crucial because most PvP attacks occur when you're an easy target. NEVER pull more than you can easily handle. When you take a lot of damage or are in a serious fight, an enemy can easily turn the battle against you. If you keep your battles simple than a PvP encounter is much more easy to handle. This pertains to the expression don't get caught with your pants down (lol). Keep your health up and only do difficult pulls when you ABSOLUTELY have to, and if at all possible, invite another player to make the battle go smoother.

D) Don't be stubborn! If you've been attacked at a certain location over and over again, don't stay. You'll only get more and more frustrated because the more you die, the more time you waste. To make matters worse, your resurrect timer increases and wastes even MORE time. Find another area to XP until the area that you need calms down, or bring in some heavy reinforcements!

E) Don't make enemies It can be very fun to kill another player while they are XPing. You can snag some honor while you're getting items, quest objectives, and experience. However, when you kill another player, be prepared that they will most likely come back and pay you back the favor. Only initiate a PvP encounter if you're prepared to repeat a battle with them or if you are planning to relocate quickly. If you kill a player over and over, it's very likely you will make them angry. This player may have friends who can come track you down and kill you. There are consequences for your actions so be prepared ;)

There's much more to list but for now this will do. I hope these tips help any player who finds themselves frustrated at the PvP server experience. I believe PvP servers are how this game is meant to be played because it makes it much more immersive and believable (Horde and Alliance don't mix). Enjoy this awesome server!

Oh I forgot an important one!

F) You Don't Have to Fight!

If you are attacked by an enemy player, it is not your responsibility to kill them. If you'd prefer, get away with crowd control or speed abilities. Sometimes this is the better option because certain attackers you have little to no chance of defeating, whether it be their class or their level being much higher than your own. Don't be ashamed to leave them eating your dust!

Also for A) there are more spots usually for the mob you need to kill for a quest. I suggest going to db.vanillagaming.org amd type in the creatures name and look for other spots they spawn at. Lots of times I've seen one general full of other faction, yet the other spawn point contains no other players

True that jreed.

...also I have often found locations that, believe it or not, no one goes to or it is visited very infrequently. I visit these places even if the mobs are a bit below me and grind for an hour or two while rested amassing experience and lots of vendor junk.

This might seem kinda distant but I remember the name Viorin, male night elf druid on the Rebirth server, I remember ganking a Viorin in Silithus, I was an undead rogue with the same name, was that you? haha

Another tip: Don't be afraid to grind. If you're questing and there's the opposing Alliance all over your quest objectives, do a little research and find a nice out of the way grind spot. Watch some Netflix while you're at it.

I would like to make an addition related to these two:

G) Childish people are everywhere!: Know that even if you are in the mindset of a non-aggression pact to the "quest and let quest" motto, a failed gank against you (usually while you are on a mob, not full hp) could bring the enemy to lie to his own faction (and accuse you of ganking instead), just to justify and receive the help of one of his 10> more lvl companions to come and avenge his failed "childish" attempt.
The fact that it was childish, does not mean you have to be you too. After you've already dealt with him, simple leave the area to avoid reprisals, and go quest elsewhere for a while.
