Hey guys,

This may seem noobish or whatever, but I haven't found any download links for the client itself.

Any tips?

I don't mean to encourage piracy or warez sharing on this forum, but you can find a 1.12.1 client on a certain swedish website.

Feenix's client also works very well but it's enUS not enGB. You can find it on the Emerald Dream website. I downloaded it myself in preparation for this server and have already used it to play on.

If you go the Feenix client route, just be sure to replace their wow.exe with a clean one.

Don't worry about piracy for old WoW clients. The server itself is already a pirate. If Blizzard cared, they'd come after the server in the first place, not forum links to where you can get clients. Also, since there's no legitimate way to acquire these anymore, you basically have no choice except to pirate it. You could buy old discs that managed to survive 10 years, but Blizzard still won't see any money from that second hand transaction, so you may as well have pirated it. You'd also have the extra work of patching it up to a specific version. You can't use Blizzard for this as they will patch it all the way up to the current retail version, ruining the client. You want 1.12.x, and nothing newer. Blizzard, in addition to not offering/selling older versions, will also not give you the option to select a specific patch to stop on. You'll have to use third party sites to pick the patch... You may as well just pirate the 1.12 client and save yourself all this trouble.

As for the Feenix client, I tested it and it works fine for every server I tried connecting it to. I don't know why people say it's been altered. It's enUS, although I don't know any differences between them other than the fact that the US version includes a randomize button under the name creation. Perhaps the EU client supports more languages?

If you don't trust this, you can use that certain "swedish" site, but the second most seeded torrent is the exact same torrent that I just linked(It's what the Feenix thread links). The highest seeded one is from VanillaGaming. The only real differences I've noticed is that the Feenix client is enUS, while the VG Client is enGB. Again, I don't know if this matters at all, pick the one you like. I connect to all these Europe servers just fine with my US clients. I've been running the Feenix enUS client the entire time I've played on Nostalrius and haven't seen any issues in doing so. After you get the client, just use the Nostalrius realmlist, and that should be all there is to it. The client doesn't even have Feenix realmlist info in it, hence why the thread tells you to put that in(so much for being "altered").

This is another that I help seed, Feenix 2.4 for BC. I help seed both of these on my BT, allowing up to 1MB upload.(Although the VanillaGaming torrent is actually better seeded even without me on it)

Feenix client might have other stuff in it... I wouldn't use it.

Vengeance has clean and unmodified clients for vanilla and TBC, and they're enUS.

The only difference between the two is that you get the randomize name button on enUS and not on enGB.

This is because their TBC client is coded to always direct you to their server, regardless of the realmlist you set. You have to replace their Wow.exe with a clean one.

The other stuff in the directory is just documentation. I have both their Classic and BC clients. Neither have had any issues with realmlist or connecting to other servers. They don't even attempt to connect to Feenix. I've used the Feenix client the entire time I've been on Nostalrius, and have seen no issues from doing so. With the BC one, I'm logged into Excalibur right now, again, no issues. People can keep saying these clients are tampered with, but I've yet to see anything of the sort in actually using them. TPB torrent which the Feenix thread uses doesn't even mention Feenix anywhere on the page. I'm using both of these and neither have attempted to direct me anywhere other than where told, and neither of them are having any issues doing so. What exactly is the problem here?

"This is because their TBC client is coded to always direct you to their server, regardless of the realmlist you set. "
So the game is telling me I'm on Excalibur, both on the menu screen and in game chat, but it's actually Feenix? Is that what's going on here? If I saw any issues using either of these, I wouldn't use them myself nor seed/recommend them. But I don't.

Alright calm down. They probably changed it because it was making them look like scumbags. Here you can see a post where a person had trouble with the TBC feenix client: http://www.ownedcore.com/forums/world-o ... ost2687339

Maybe they discontinued using tampered clients; I don't know about what may have happened over years and years. I just see that the ones they have now are perfectly fine. I might put the torrent in my signature, since I help seed the thing.

Anyone have an idea what the realmlist name will be? I'm guessing it will be login.nostalrius.org?

Also, is it possible to create our characters prior to the server opening (if that is the correct realmlist)? Obviously I know we wouldn't be able to enter the world.
