Scrolling combat text / damage issues

I installed the scrolling combat text addon along with the scrolling damage addon and I am getting a little frustrated. For the damage side of things, the sct won't appear unless I have the WoW dmg turned on. It is either double or nothing. And secondly, downranked heals do not appear on the healing text. What am I doing wrong or is there an addon that is easier to work with than this.

whats the benefit of your addon compare to sct?
