Does Addon exist?

I am looking for an addon that when I enter ":)" into chat, it catches it and replaces it with "/smile". Does this addon exist? if so, perhaps you could provide me the name of said addon. Many thanks in advance for any related contributions.

I don't know of such an addon but it is not hard to make.

If I understood correctly you want an addon that will catch what you type in chat and do a matching emote.

Ie. /smile, /cry etc

Just downloaded and tried it out. This is exactly what I was talking about. Thank you very much.

Made some small changes

• /chatemote toggle
  will enable or disable the addon for the session (not persisted)
• removed a leftover debug print
• /chatemote unlink EMOTE will now remove all synonyms
  If or example you had linked both ":)" and ":-)" to /smile
