Do i need Ace2?

I've been using Bartender2 and a couple of other Ace2 addons without actually having Ace2 installed. So i wonder if there some functionality i'm losing out on. Or is the Ace/Ace2 database or whatever already implemented within those addons, so thats why i don't need to install it?

I think it may be embedded or not, but if it's working and needs it it's embedded and you're not missing out on anything.
