[Addon] Questie v2.0.12 - A quest helper for vanilla!

Re: [Updated] Questie v1.0 BETA - A quest helper for vanilla

by Humble Kagu » Wed Apr 29, 2015 8:14 pm

First off, amazing job! Works very well. However, I'm running into issues where Questie tells me to pickup quests that I already have or have already completed. I started using this addon on a character I had already been leveling so I'm wondering if maybe it just hasn't updated the information correctly? Is there a way for it refresh itself and check what quests have been completed? Or maybe a way to manually remove the icons on the map I no longer need to be tracked?

Thanks for any help.

The Questtracker is over my Charakter and when i klick on it to move it away, the whole thing is glued to my Mouse Cursor and i can't get it off.
While this happens I'm unable to klick on things and the only solution is to close WoW.
I klicked every Button on my Keyboard and my Mouse but it won't go off.
Someone knows a solution for this ? However i can't be the only one with this Problem.... or am i ?

That's why we keep telling you to download the release linked in the OP and not the master branch.
I fixed it now, but there is a reason we tell people to use releases, because they're stable versions that only require a couple hotfixes, not something constantly unfinished and under development.
How about you show people the correct one then dildo instead of linking a bunch of shit and assuming people are clicking the right thing.

I'm pretty certain the release version is directly linked in the first post. You can also just go to the github page and click on the release tab. Anywho if it brings more chill to this thread here is the direct link to the v1.0 BETA Release: https://github.com/AeroScripts/QuestieD ... /tag/v1.0b

Not very happy with this mod. The quest tracker sometimes doesnt update on it's own. Also, checkmarks of previous quests stay on the map after you are done. Looking for something better.

Quest tracker not updating is an issue with the server not sending events to the client correctly. That can bug out sometimes, but in the new version (which still isn't out, but we're working hard on it), we have fall backs for that kinda thing.

I know we've been saying it's gonna be out soon, but the earliest it will happen is this weekend.

Really awesome work, has a lot of potential.

Thanks

I'm assuming you probably did the Alliance quests in your area? We tested 1.0o2 and it works well. The new version doesn't have available quests yet, that is a feature we need to reimplement with the new technology.

Uhm, look at the OP, the download link is BOLDED with a very large font. Really hard to miss unless you have some sort of eyesight problem.

Github is a janky ass website with viruses? This is news to me, I thought github was an open-source hosting platform.

If you don't want to use questie that's fine, just please avoid shitposting in this thread.

Hey there, it is probably somewhere in this thread, but how do you go about getting the questie tracker/arrow back on screen? After logout it has disappeared, have been running around questing for a while now without it ever popping up.

If it's not appearing when you double click a quest in the tracker, it's possible the saved location for it is offscreen (somehow). You can reset it by editing WTF/<account>/SavedVariables/Questie.lua and removing "QuestieTrackerVariables". (Or just deleted Questie.lua and .lua.bak entirely)

Also, if you're using github-master (1.1alpha) it's really broken right now, 1.0beta is still the latest "stable" version.
