It should be compatible. You just have to toggle the default interface with the button in the top right to access some of the auctioneer functionality.

Vanilla Auctioneer's average price is rather lackluster though, I've written about that before.

Altoholic wrote:Hi, and thank you for that addon.

Here is a BUG REPORT : sometimes, items are posted at 1c. It happens once or twice a day, i don't really know why... maybe when i go too fast ? Or i doesn't refresh before posting ? Not sure at what make that happens, but it's a big problem.
Also, i can never cancel theses auctions (lua bug pop up - haven't thought to copy it, will do asap), i have to swhitch to the basic AH interface.

Edit : in fact, the cancel never work, on any auction. Here is the lua error :

Are you sure you have the newest version? (2.1.6) (edit: now 2.1.7)
I have no issues with canceling auctions.

As for the 1c issue, I've never experienced it myself. Maybe it would also be fixed by an update.
(edit: I've noticed that for some reason after posting something the price goes to 1c instead of 0 when nothing is selected, which in an earlier version could've caused the issue when clicking before the scan finishes. In the newest version this shouldn't happen as selecting something will now suggest a price based on the vendor price instantly. Of course in either case you still always have to wait for the scan to finish if you want the price based on the scan.)

If you do have the newest version then maybe it's a compatibility issue of some sort with another addon.

Hey there.
I was using your addon for quite long, still sitting on a 1.1.1 version. Now I've checked the new one and I have couple of questions:
- Is it possible to proceed to the post tab while alt-clicking on the item in inventory? Not to item information one.
- In 1.1.1 when you post an item you are able to see if you have another items there already, I mean the word (yours) near the line, quite useful feature, since you have no mechanics to check if your lot has been undercutted or not and cancel it automatically. Is it possible to add that back?
- Again, there's was a feature to choose number of lots to buy and then one-click buy them if they are still available. Quite useful if you're buying 20 auctions, no need to click the button each time. Same question, is it possible to add that back?

Yours,

No, alt clicking on an inventory item will always switch to the item search and search for it.

That's still there, it's just a whole separate column now (made it this way for sorting purposes I guess)

Probably not. I think the cases where this would be more efficient than the current alt-click buy are very limited, especially if you use the full view and make sure you don't alternate between pages.
Also you may want to choose different auctions once you find out that one is no longer available, which can't be done with the mass selection. Additionally, since the current mechanism is clearly better if you buy only a few auctions they would have to be both available making the interface more complicated.

Problem disapeared with last version :)

But a new one occur : when i bid (the problem appear only with bids, not buyouts) massively (by hand, one at a time), the game crash.
Worst : when i relog, i can't talk to any auctioneer, or the game crash again. That bug is 100% repeatable.
If i log with another toon, no problem, all is working.
If i log with all addons disabled, the game still crash if i talk to an anctioneer with the toon who had the first crash.
The only workaround i have found is to "flush" the ram, else by loading big others programs, or rebooting (i don't know the command to do that "flush" under linux, if someone know it...).

That's a known server bug which has nothing to do with Aux (actually, maybe it's blizzlike, don't know). Anyway, the issue is you can't have more than 50 bids. If you wait till some expire it will work again.

That's an important info ! Thx.
Can you implement a limit to bids, to prevent that appening ? Like a pop-up who said "you reached 50 bids, i prevent the next one or the game will crash" ? Or/and a counter of bids always visible ?

Else, the error when canceling a bid still appear from time to time.

Also, sometimes the bid panel is empty, or everything appear in double.
In both these lasts two cases, refreshing solve the problem.

I'm not sure I understand. Are you talking about the icon in the item search? The reason that was removed has nothing to do with the tooltip (which has always existed, just the place where it pops up was changed).

The reason there is no icon in the item search is because every search result would always have the same icon and there's already a large version of it in the top left, making it a redundant waste of space. The filter search where different items can result from a search still has the icons.

As for the annoyance of the tooltip I think you just have to get used to it. It bothered me too at the start but now I don't even notice it anymore. I don't think showing it when hovering over the icon was a good idea, the icon is just too small for that, and showing it on a corner also looks weird with such long narrow entries.

Soooo any way you can fix this?
http://i.imgur.com/hW6qC89.jpg

Since your addon don't really have a suggested price (unless I'm mistaken) I'm still gonna use auctioneer for that and EnhToolTip shows that price and other things like enchatrix and informant information in the tooltip for items, and when you mousehover in the searchlist it shows this tooltip everywhere, thats why you should probably change the list back and make a column with a "item icon" or the "name item" and make that tooltip only appear when you mousehover that column and only that one, otherwise is impossible to see the table if you are using other tooltips addons.

Your filter search has this column but you still show the tooltip when you hover everywhere, why?

Another solution is to add an anchoring option to the tooltip, where you can fix the tooltip to x,y points of your choise, that way everyone can change that even if they have different results with different addons. Similar to the anchoring function that Tinytip has. Or just fix the tooltip to the bottom of the screen, probably not the best option here since it can still be blocked by other addons

-----------------------------------
Another thing that you should probably fix is the transparency of the windows UI, I have my chat just in the same spot where the lower menu of your addons has the diferent buttons to item search, filter search, etc and this is what happens

http://i.imgur.com/VZqvFUi.jpg

really hard to read and an eyesore in general. Maybe add an option to change the transparency by %, similar to what titan and fubar has.

I also noticed that you previously had the button on top of the window, why did you changed it? I think that was way better, maybe add an option to switch menu buttons on top

Anyway thanks for your addon, is really good and I'm planning on using it once I figure how to fix the tooltip problem. It would be wonderful if you could fix it yourself tho, I'm pretty sure I'm not the only one with his problem.

I'll look at the bids panel and also the auctions (sometimes they don't appear until refresh). The api is kinda weird for those, they're both in subtle ways different from requesting regular auctions, also not sure if the events are blizzlike.

As for the other thing I'd rather not add code to handle temporary server bugs.

Oh, yeah, this looks pretty bad. I don't use enhtooltip myself, so I never noticed. Couldn't you somehow embed it in the gametooltip? I'm sure this works at least for auctioneer's extra tooltip. If it were embedded then the whole tooltip would be located above the mouse where it's supposed to be. Moving the enhtooltip to the right place even when it's separate may be a bit annoying to get right as having a cursor tooltip with offset already required a giant hack to make possible.

Also you can significantly shorten the auctioneer enhtooltip part. There are options to turn it into a single concise line. Most of the information it's showing for you is pretty useless/redundant. Auctioneer is also not dependent on enchantrix so you could get rid of that if you're not enchanter.

As for the full view I was talking about the icon, not the tooltip. The tooltip is always necessary because it contains information that isn't shown in any view's columns (e.g., crafter name, stats of armor).

The tabs I moved to the bottom because when I added the tabs for the views it looked strange with both at the top. And also for consistency with the regular AH. I'll look into decreasing the transparency a bit but it doesn't seem like a very pressing issue.

You could add a simple general visualizer on how many bids you have in the auction, that would be functional and clean, but there is already addons that do this, you don't need to worry about this.

This is how Auctioner works with my addons.

http://i.imgur.com/KMonNDC.jpg
http://i.imgur.com/r8dMFG7.jpg

It basically just show the tooltip when you hover the icon and only the icon, is not annoying because you can still bid while getting the same info without having in your face.

Im not getting rid of enchatrix since is really useful for me as a mage who farm waves of mobs everywhere, I usually get greens/blues and with enchantrix, informant and auctioneer I can compare prices between vendor, AH and disenchant, and this is not even the point, what about people that is enchanter? they can't use your addon this way

No reason for you to mess with the tooltip honestly, you just need to make it so you can only see it in 1 column/part of the table like auctioneer does, for example when you hover the icon or the name only.

I have no idea about embedding the tooltip, I'm pretty sure you can play with that, the problem with this solution is that if you fix where the tooltip is shown some people with less screen resolution can have still problems with the tooltip still in their faces and/or you also have different sizes of tooltips with different addons and it will not always be the same. I still think the best solution for you here is to show the tooltip when you only hover the name, no reason to show this information when you hover the bid, buy, bid ea, or any other similar column

Hey, any solution for Aux for this: I want to scan items and then show average auc price in tooltip, as auctioneer does, but I don't really want to run both these addons. Love Aux, searching, buying and posting is so much better than in auctioneer, I even uninstalled last one in 1 minute after trying Aux. But this information is kinda.. useful. =)
