Improved Models (Allowed?)

Howdy y'all,
I came across this for WoW clients at the 1.12.1 patch:
https://github.com/Koward/Improved_ModelsWhat I'm wondering is if it is allowed to be used or if it would lead to a ban? I see it modifies the .MPQ files so this is probably gonna be a big no no. In general the mod back ports the newer models into this version of WoW.

The GM's cannot see if the change you made are harmless (as in your case) or intended for cheating, so any change to client files are bannable.

To be exact, GMs cant see if you've made changes at all, as long as you don't change geometry of things and start walking on thin air (which is the original reason why these kind of mods are forbidden). The only thing that might detect those changes are specific warden checks, idk.

As people said Before, model edits are probably impossible for them to see but you will never get an OK for this as the same method can be used to cheat

Gotcha! To stay on the safe side I won't use it. The game still looks alright, just thought it would be kind of neat to get this working. Thanks all for the info.

The existence of cheaters is indeed why we can't have many nice things.
Who knows, one day the devs might have enough time on their hand (not likely though, lol) to actually release an improved client + .mpq pack that specifically is allowed.

Ugh these taddletale type of topics make me puke. Ive used this for more than 4 weeks and nothing in the event of cheating is involved. Its just cosmetics. Same size, same shape, different look. Nothing will hurt you with this. If Nos bans you for this or anyone for using this, they can go **** themselves for all I care.

What you don't seem to realize is that if they detect it, what they will almost certainly detect is that something in the files has changed, not exactly what. The method used here is essentially the same that allows you to remove walls and such and that is why, if detected, it will most certainly land a permanent ban.
Sure, the risk of detection might be small or even non-existant. And using it certainly isn't morally wrong in any way. But that isn't the issue.

Could you, may be ... If it won't be too much of a trouble, post some screenies or a short video for comparison. I'd like to see if it's worth installing. TIA
