Hello
On retail, i use
lcurse, a free software for Linux (yes, i play under wine, i don't have Windows), for staying current with all my addons.
I there something like that for WoW vanilla ? I guess no, but that would be great

There isn't, but it's not really needed, since the WOW version does not change.

It does change (the new content, like BWL, ZG, etc) bring new stuff, and database addons need to be current.
But even if the game stayed unchanged, addons developpers correct bugs, add functionalties, etc.
Most of the addons are "dead but still fonctional", but i think about currently developped (or the ones who will need to be updated after the game will receive next content).

Yes, new content is added, but the client version stays at 1.12.1 since the content is added purely on server side.
You are right that addons may be updated, but the really beneficial thing about Curse was when a client patch was released - and that won't happen here.
You will also need a centrall repository containing all the addons, and keeping these up-to-date with newest version.

That's the point ^^
Maybe devs will unite and create a WoWInterface or Curse for Vanilla. Just a hope
(that being said, with addons.us.to/addons, we mostly have it, and just need a client, user-side, who check what's new)

Or you could just, you know, check up every now and then on the handful of vanilla addons that are actively being worked on here.
Most of the addons are gonna stay as they have for 9 years.

Most of the addons being developed are on git.
Install Tortoise Git and clone the repositories.

What makes you say that? While it may be true for bigger addon-projects with many developers, it certainly is not true for addons created by just one man - my addons included.

Seems overkill
On the other and, i discover github gives atom feeds for each project. Just suscribed to them is good enough for me

If you aren't putting your addons on GitHub, you're handicapping yourself, other developers and your (potential) users. It's irresponsible and managing a repo is close to no additional work.
