Nostalrius Begins - Quality wow vanilla realm (1.12)

I tried downloading addons but when I went to my Interface folder, there was no AddOns folder. So, after some reading I created one and put the addons I had downloaded into the new folder. However, they still did not appear to be working. There was no addons button in game that I could click and I could not type in any commands to configure them. I then deleted the game, reinstalled it, and tried again. Once again though, there was no AddOns folder in my Interface folder. Again I created one and put addons in it but it still does not work. What am I doing wrong?

When you're at the character selection screen, click the Addons button in the bottom left and check "Load out of date addons".

Make sure you properly extracted the addons:

When opening an addon folder (within the AddOns folder) you should always see an ADDONNAME.toc (the .toc is important) file

if there only is an other folder inside the first one, you have to drag that one out and directly put it into the AddOns folder
