Cartographer/Questie problems on Vanilla/TBC?

Hello, I was posting before in some other threads about several annoying bugs in the game with generally basic addons that everyone actually has to use. I'm talking about two addons but we will focus on the first one cuz Questie is generally fine and still in dev so it can get fixes.

- Cartographer v2.0 (probably latest, most popular version with most downloads)
- Questie v2.61 (still in development, v2.62 is latest but didn't test it yet)


Let's say you got a new computer or really no matter what computer do you use, you just install clear Vanilla Client from Nostalrius site then you want to put some basic addons and you choose these two. What happens next? I'll show you in my example: (Cartographer only, Questie problems explained at the close end)

For me there are 3 map modes. How you can see default map is in look n feel mode. There are actions bars with abilities over the map, actually they are on it, covering bottom part of the map. That's the firs bug. You ofc want to do sth with that, so you click look n feel and make it inactive. It leads you to fullscreen map mode (with black strips on sides). Fullscreen is the only mode which is working well but.. untill you relog or do /reload. Then it bugs completly and the world map change to totally bugged "halfscreen" mode or sth like that. It's not fullscreen and not look n feel mode, you can't close your map with ESC button. To fix that and go back to working fullscreen you have to make look n feel active and inactive several times.

Questie problems:

- Recently taked quest doesn't show up. World Map or MiniMap will now display them as Quest Objectives. You take a new quest, and you can't see it.
- Yellow exclamation marks on World Map/MiniMap shows already taken or completed quests. Not all but few of them will never dissapear. I tried complete them manually by ctrl, shift, lmb (questie feature) but some of them will still be displayed.


How I was trying to solve this:

- Deleting WTF, WDB folders, reseting to default settings.
- Deleting all WoW files from my computer then redownload the game and install it (fresh client).
- Trying out different addon versions.
- Changing .exe compatibility of the game.
- Virus scans, driver updates, system cleaning, optimization and a lot more actions like that with some programs, logs etc.

Nothing helped. I tested it on several computers, asked friends to download and install the game etc. and the outcome was.. exactly the same problems/bugs on all computers. No exceptions.
I realize ofc that the majority players uses these addons, I was using them before too without problems (but prior versions from ~year ago). That's why it's so strange. I unfortunately don't have those prior versions anymore, cuz it was Questie v1.0 beta I guess and cartographer with only one folder (without 2 gathering profession folders).


Ofc there are some temporary fixes for almost each of these bugs:

Pet Action Bar dissaper - Just log off/log in or dismiss/call pet.
Cartographer world map bugs (ESC not closing world map, action bars/ui overlaping world map, world map resets from fullscreen to look n feel mode) - Play with scale, make look n feel active/inactive several times, log off/log in
Questie not displaying recently takes quests - log off/log in, /reload ui.

But it's highly annoying and frustrating to have to do it constantly all the time. I count on your interest in this matter because it will probably be the same even on TBC realm. Would be great to find a fix or change sth in these addons to make them work properly. So.. enjoy the discussion!

god, you want to spam this crap over the whole forums now? the disappearing pet bar is a serverbug! you dont have this problem on other servers with the same setup

you shouldnt use /rl at all, its not a API feature but a ace2 function...there rly NO need to reload the UI if you dont code on addons

No, I want someone to see this and possibly fix cartographer if he decides to.
About per bar, I was told by GM it didn't happen to his hunter and they didn't recieve any reports about that, so it's not a server bug that's the first thing. Especially that it didnt happen to me several days, weeks, months ago, even one time.

While using more addons there are always some strange bugs when you can't see or do sth and quick /rl is needed, many players do this, I was always doing that over the years and never had problems even on Nostalrius recently.

I don't know what you mean with that code, it doesn't do a shit. A serious fix is needed for cartographer cuz it's evidently broken (you can switch from different map modes but all of them have different bugs) so using primitive "semi-fexes" or avoiding to use addons or /rl etc. is not a solution. About pet bar idk where is the cause.
