Mengwang official ban appeal

Mengwang official ban appeal

by Eligius » Thu Oct 01, 2015 6:47 am

Hello,
My name is Huozai, and I would like to appeal on behalf of Mengwang, an officer from the Chinese guild <The Twilight> (6/8 BWL) who was banned last week on september 23rd.

In this thread I will explain the circumstance that led to his ban, and show that they were in fact not fraudulent.

(Mengwang tells me that he already tried to contact the GM team, but since english is not his first language we feel that he wasn’t able to fairly argue his innocence)

On that day, there were several gold transfers between Mengwang’s main account, his alts, and fellow guild officer Exiledblade. All of those accounts were banned for “illegal gold transaction”

Let me recount the events:
Background: <The Twilight> is progressing in BWL, and as result has to transfer a lot of consumable and gold between guild officers and their alts.

Protagonists:
Exiledblade (level 60 rogue)
Mengwang (level 60 druid)
Mengwang alt number 1: Mwfive (level 1 bank alt )
Mengwang alt number 2: Dullmaster (level 39 mage)

Operations:
Mwfive => Exiledblade [15 stacks of mongoose + 20 stacks of giants]
Exiledblade => Mwfive [550g]
Mwfive => Mengwang [around 289g]
Mwfive => Dullmaster [around 261g]

As you can see, what we have here is just an exchange of consumables for gold between guildies, and then gold redistributed between characters owned by the same player.

As you can also see in this thread made to appeal Exiledblade's ban, https://forum.nostalrius.org/viewtopic.php?f=65&t=22269 , Exiledblade explained in detail the nature of the gold transaction, which after review was deemed as not illegal by an Admin and Exiledblade was unbanned.

account has been unbanned.
Please, accept our deepest apologizes.

Best regards.

For these reasons it appears to us that Mengwang should also be cleared of charges, and that the accounts associated to these characters should be unbanned.

Mengwang aknowledges one fault however. His alts are on seperate accounts (but on the same IP), and some of them might have been online at the same time (For instance his main character might have traded with his level 1 bank alt directly in game) According to the ToU, this can be seen as multiboxing, but punishable only by a “Final Warning”, something that Mengwang repents for and will not do again.

Please take all the time you need to fully review this case.

Kind Regards,
Huozai

This is actually allowed.

As long as you are in a city and one other toon is not levelling, questing at the same time it is 100% legit.

Using two accounts to trade, enchant etc at the same time is perfectly fine to do.

Spamming topics won't change anything. The account owner himself made several, and if he got a reply, it always stated the ban would remain in place. Did you all ever stop to think that the reason Exiledblade got banned was because they thought he bought or sold gold to a suspected person? Mengwang is a known PvP botter, so honestly it wouldn't surprise me if he's done other things against the ToU.

The level of whining about bans on the forums is at an all time industrial level.

This is the first and only thread that I am making, hoping that mengwang can get a fair review. As you can see from what he posted, he doesn't speak english well at all and can't even start to explain what the GMs might think is suspicious action. That's why I thought I should do one final thread myself, if this is not ok I apologize..

This post is consistent with Exiledblade's post.

Lot's of gold exchanging hands most have triggered the whole thing, but there's really nothing unusual here. If everything is exactly as it appears, this certainly merits review. If everything is exactly as it appears, this should be oveturned just as exiledblade's was.

If it is not as it appears, nothing is going to change and you will probably not receive a response.

I have every confidence, in this case, that staff will do the right thing.

Best of luck in getting this resolved. I can only see them keeping this ban in place if they believe one or both of those alts received bought gold.
