Perm ban?

Hello

I've just been perm banned and I'm nothing but confused.
My character was Kuruni, a gnome mage. Here's what happened before I was thrown off the server.
I'm pretty new to the server, and have been undecided on which character I should level, all I said in Ironforge general chat was "Do I want to be a gnome mage?"

Meaning.... if there are a lot of mages on the server, that i wouldnt know about because i'm not up to the point of raiding, would it be more useful to raid groups for me to level something else.

Two people replied, someone saying "No" and someone giving me the tip that i might want to go with human mage. I was just about to type thanks, and that I'd been thinking about human mage..... and that's when i got kicked off and perm banned.

I'm really really not sure how this could be breaking any rules, I'm a good girl and wouldn't do that purposefully. Could anyone take the time to explain what I did wrong? And also explain if it would be possible to get my account back?
