Character: Xaniza

Hello,
I just started playing on this server. I created a gnome mage named Xaniza yesterday and have been leveling slowly. I was lonely so upon reaching Ironforge I said in general that I was new to the server looking for a casual/leveling guild. Nobody said anything so I took the tram over to Stormwind and as soon as I said the same thing I was kicked from the server and banned. I checked my account on the website and it said I was banned. I'm level 8, I haven't downloaded any addons yet. I haven't grouped with anyone, sent whispers to anyone, /danced with anyone. I don't know what I did wrong.
Please advise...

What was the problem that led to this ban? How can I prevent this from happening in the future? I am still a bit confused, I have only played here 1 day.

We have certain measures to prevent gold spammers from flooding the chats. If you're under 15, using any public chat channel might result in a false positive. Try to minimize your usage of them until that point.
