denied vs approved.

denied vs approved.

by beskermer » Sat Dec 26, 2015 10:35 am

So, appeal denied.

As per the conditions posted by Nost staff over herb/bug exploitation issue.

1- No exploitation has been done after 15:12 server time (time of the system announcement)
1: Exploitation stopped 20-30min prior to system ban.

2- All the exploited items must have been removed
2: Ticket was opened 15:00-15:15 informing GM's of situation. Items not deleted as reply was not received. Logged off char prior to system announcement. Deleting 20-30 thorium and 1 arcane crystal can easily be achieved. (A ticket a GM even confirmed! Asking What I must do with the items!!)

3- None of the items may have been traded, sold or exchanged. It includes using secondary characters as banks, trading item in the auction house, mailing the items, etc ...
3: Ticket was opened 15:00-15:15 informing GM's of situation. Items not deleted as reply was not received. Logged off char prior to system announcement. No items have been sold of transformed or crafted with. Cannot confirm 100% if the items are still on my char or in bank.

4- The appeal must have been posted before the 1st January 2016
4: Appeal posted 23th Dec.

I logged off the character 20-30min prior to system message. I even opened a GM ticket which <GM> Voltog confirmed (I had to make a new account to talk to a GM btw after my ban) and he asked me to let GM's on know on the forums about the ticket.

So The only reason my appeal is denied is because I didn't delete the items? After I even made a ticket asking what I should do? (and a GM even confirmed this ticket) I made a ticket asking what I must do about these items!

Next time you issue a system message, how about you include "..and all items collected in this period are to be deleted prior to us banning you since you will never get access to your account again and will be unable to delete them yourself prior to our appeal investigation"

The fact I had a ticket open about this bug/exploit and you still banning me over the exact item I had a ticket open about, you violating your/Nost's own guidelines.

This is truly such a kneejerk reaction on your guys part. So many people owned up to this transgression and because of 1 item out of 4.. you refuse to accept it. How are people who logged off the game prior to the ban meant to delete the items??

Oh and BTW, I had been mining in Ungroro crater for 2hours prior to "dynamic fuckup" on the ores. so please don't think the other 70 thorium and 1 arcane crystals that I mailed to my alt was even part of the mess. That was all gathered prior to this mess. (yeah bet trolls will say "lies!!!!")

According to another thread, if you desist once you realize it's a bug, and open a GM ticket, it's fine.
So... haters gonna hate, anticipating your return besk!

"Greetings,

Intentionally abusing a major bug is grounds for a permanent ban. As has been our policy since launch, if you find a bug that results in an obviously unintended gain, you are to open a GM ticket or report the bug on the bugtracker, and desist - not continue to exploit it.

Did you happen to open a GM ticket?

Regards, GM Team."

I have the same issue as you exactly - https://forum.nostalrius.org/viewtopic.php?f=65&t=30036

We both would have taken the required action if advised by the same system wide message advising to stop.

Gl Sinnee.

Hope you have a reasonable assessment of your appeal.

Just burns when there are +5 people that I personally know still playing in game cause GM's told them a 24 hours after the transgression to delete the items they gathered and they perfectly fine and still playing. I got banned 4 hours after the system message without any GM replying to my ticket.

For the rest of us, no GM or system message told us what to do so now we screwed.

Man I am totally with you they said they did this to save the economy of the server which is untrue it only save the gold sellers economy and I really don't understand why your appeal was denied exploit = unintended gain and we all know that you didn't sell anything + you opened a ticket to inform the GMs of the bug and ask them what to do with the times and thats what happened

So the danger of setting a precedent is that if you do it to one, then you should apply it to all such cases.
I resigned myself earlier today that my appeal was denied and I have lost my character. Then 3hours later I find this.

This person was banned and the appeal was approved and here are the replies to the 4 points:

Node Exploit Appeal - Under Review - Nihn

by Nihn » Fri Dec 25, 2015 1:19 pm

Hi,

I posted a ticked yesterday regarding a node I found in Winterspring that was bugged and I wanted the dev team to know of the issue. Had a talk with <GM> Eldoth that ensured me that I did not need to worry as I was honest and did the right thing by reported it. Was willing to delete my 20 thorium that I got aswell. As Long as I did not exploit the bug anymore my account would be safe.

Seems like I still got banned. Please help me out here.

Conversation with GM: http://imgur.com/OcPEXk7

1- No exploitation has been done after 15:12 server time (time of the system announcement)
- Unknow of time, but I did NOT see any system message on the short time I was online on the 24th, due to the reason for creating a ticket and reporting in the issue. See imgur for the conversation.
2- All the exploited items must have been removed
After seeing the bug knowing it was one. I instantly stopped any farming of thorium, created a ticket to make the devs know of the issue and HSed. The thorium is smelted. BUT is still on my char and can still be deleted. No thorium was sold or used. Reason for not deleting it was that I got confirmation that it was NOT needed by GM Eldoth. Again see imgur.
3- None of the items may have been traded, sold or exchanged. It includes using secondary characters as banks, trading item in the auction house, mailing the items, etc ...
Again: The thorium is smelted. BUT is still on my char and can still be deleted. No thorium was sold or used of any sort.
4- The appeal must have been posted before the 1st January 2016
Made on the 25th.

Realm: PvP server

Nihn

So point #2 Was not fulfilled. Items were not deleted.

BUT how come this appeal was approved?
20 thorium vs 20-30 thorium + 1 arcane
No use of bug after system message = same
items not deleted = same
ticket answered by GM vs not answered by GM but confirmed.

A couple of us have exact same situation, but with us a GM never attended to our tickets advising the proper course of action. On other accounts the items where not deleted either but due to this our appeal was denied?

What did I miss here? And yeah Tyrael, sorry if I am starting this again.

So.. Double standards.

Myself
Never deleted items + GM never attended to ticket = appeal denied.

Other person
Never deleted items + GM said can keep items = appeal approved.
