Banned account - explanations

Sunday 24th Jan, around 00.30 ST, my character Arktoga in PvP realm got banned together with another mage character for account sharing:
a guy in raid asked for a portal to Darnassus and I logged that mage to open a portal to Darnassus. After that, instead of logging out the mage, I kept it logged in follow, in order to make another portal to Ironforge since it would have been needed soon. Someone who saw it afk in follow reported to GMs and it resulted in a ban for both accounts.

I understood the situation and asked sorry for that to the GM, saying I was also ok for a long ban (even a month or so) or even deleting one of the two accounts so it could not happen again. But he said I was free to create a new account and follow the rules with that. When I read that I felt so disappointed and impotent, seeing all what I have created with effort, dedication, fun and lot of time, days and nights stuck on Nostalrius flying away like a butterfly.

Now, I am aware that I shouldn't have done that and one must play one character per time. But I think the lifetime ban on both accounts is a heavy and inadequate sanction compared to what I have done, since they both had around 40 days of played time, were top raiding characters BiS geared from BWL/ZG/MC and one was even rank 11, so you are deleting all the things created in almost 100 effective days of my life for having logged two characters simultaneously and opening a portal + staying in follow afk.

This means to me you are placing my situation to the same level of a gold-account seller / powerleveler /griefing etc. which should be definetly permabanned since they ruin the game experience of others and often have poor characters who don't care that much if they can't use anymore. But in my case these were characters I've put on a lot of time and effort to gear up, enchant with ZG, craft items, farm honor for rank 11, etc. We are talking about almost 100 days of played which means almost 2.500 hours literally thrown away if things won't change.

Therefore I'm asking to review my case and to switch lifetime ban to a long ban (up to you how long), or to keep the account of the mage who was in follow permabanned or even delete it and get back the other one even naked with no gear/items/gold/talents and such but PLEASE don't make me start from scratch again with a lvl 1 character. I want to keep playing on Nostalrius, it's an awesome server with fantastic people and guilds in it, but rerolling again to reach the quality of the paladin I was playing with is really too much for me.

You were previously warned for multiboxing in September, which made you aware of our rules and the potential consequences if you were caught again. However, you chose to ignore this and engage in multiboxing again. The Terms of Use is quite clear cut when it comes to this. First offense is warning, second is permanent ban. This is how we sanction everyone on the server, and as such we cannot give anyone special treatment. Both characters will remain permanently banned, and you are free to create a new account.
