Account Information Stolen

Just a heads up, Looks like I've been a victim of a "kind" hacker. They stole all my gold and BoEs, and left my characters alive. This seems to have occurred within the past few days. Loss of about 500g, if you track mail/trades an easy item to look for was an unused Elementals deck.

I don't expect reimbursement of my losses, in fact I'm more concerned that a keylogger is still on one of my devices. In the event I wind up with deleted chars in the next few days my character is Pewpshoot on the PvP server.

GLHF hopefully I'm still around in the future. Sorry for collateral damage here, but looking at the AH the only Elementals deck is by a char named Cleea (hope the hackers aren't that stupid).

Greetings,

If you change your password right away, it's possible that you can minimise the damage. Make sure that you do not have identical account information (account & password) on another server as you do here.

The account is not currently banned. If the hacker retains control and engages in activities that would result in a ban, then in that case it may get banned to prevent further damage, and you would not be able to retrieve the account.

Please make sure your E-mail is secure, that there is no malware on your computer, change the password, and make sure your account credentials are unique.

At this point I am currently in control.

I have rebuilt my computer from scratch (overkill probably), but should the compromise be in an area out of my control there is nothing I can do.
That being said, I would be fairly disappointed in the Nostalrius staff to have my account banned "just in case".

I hope you at least get a few malicious accounts banned by following my audit trail.

Great! Glad to hear you've got it back under control. I'll go ahead and lock this thread; if you have further issues please just open a new forum thread. We do trace the gold flows, so anyone receiving that gold (either the hacker accounts or someone buying it) will of course be banned.
