New login problematic

So apparently i cannot login on the website unless I log in to the game before. But i have a dynamic IP. I also play at my family's house occasionally. And i login to forums from my phone or other computers.

This is really bad for me because the new system to protect my account has actually made it easier for me to lose it. I cannot use the recovery function anymore. Apparently neither the Login on the website nor the Reset password option work.

am i screwed?

my IP resets daily. i just couldn't login to any of my accounts i played on YESTERDAY because i have a new IP NOW.

Also is there a way for a GM or Staff Member to send an email to the address associated with my account? i can login because i have the password but it doesn't show the e-mail anywhere. When creating an account you don't get an email either.

So over time i forgot which email I used and since I have a catchall account the possibilities are nearly endless. I could not guess it.

You can reset your password regardless of the IP you are using to access the site. It is only the site "Login" capability that requires using the same IP address as the last in-game IP address.

There is an account lock feature (locks the game to a specific IP). If you logged in yesterday and did NOT use this, then that is not the reason for not being able to login today. However, if you DID set this (which seems unlikely), then you would need to release the lock using the password reset page, https://en.nostalrius.org/password.

It sounds like your main problem is that you don't know the E-mail you used to register the account. You will need to find or remember that in order to either reset the password on your account, or reset the IP lock if you have set that manually in-game. If you cannot remember the E-mail, it will not be possible to use the password reset page.

We never provide account information such as E-mail address on the account for security reasons.

my problem is twofold.

first the ip lock was introduced that works against me.

and second, yes i do not remember my email address.

i don't even want you to give out my email adress. it would be enough if by logging in i could change or AT LEAST SEE the email that is associated with the account. OR trigger an email being sent to the address.

I also have forgotten the email account I used (I created one specifically for nostalrius).

I know my account name and password, I can log in on the website, but as of today can't login on the server.

Please just add an option to see the email on the account management tab in the website, no security issues that way, and people don't loose their accounts for no reason.
