Believe my account was compromised, character gone.

Hi there,

I leveled a character named Zephros on the Nostalrius PVP server to level 45 or so a couple months ago, before I took a month+ break. Upon trying to reenter my account, I discovered that I was unable to access it, and assumed it had been compromised and credentials changed. The password recovery feature on the website unfortunately was not functional for me.

I was resigned to accept my account's sudden fate, when just a couple days ago I was told by a friend that account compromises have become more and more commonplace, resulting in countermeasures by the Nostalrius staff. Among these countermeasures, I believe, was a new account recovery system, which I promptly used with great success to recover my old account. However, upon excitedly logging onto it, it seems my character, with all of its progress is gone.

I am not entirely sure what to make of the whole affair, but, I feel it is worth seeking guidance from a knowledgeable GM, who may be willing / able to shed some light on the situation. I also don't know whether restoration is a possibility, but regardless, thank you for reading and I appreciate any help.

Zephros is still there, did you log into the PvP server? We have a PvE server now and sometimes it automatically loads to that.

I now log on to find my character there and in perfect shape. Not sure what happened, but thanks for your help!
