Permanently banned

after about 1 month I wanted to check out the server again and apparently I was permanently banned.

Please give me some information about this ban since I havent toched the account in over one month.

This account was banned because it was compromised as a result of the recent gold seller hack wave.

Please reset the password on the account from our password reset page, at https://en.nostalrius.org/password and provide a post in this thread when that is complete. We will provide further instructions after this is done.

Im afraid that there is a problem regarding the password reset since it won't accept the email address(es) I provide.

Is it absolutely necessary to reset my password since I can still log in to my account (obviously, to see that it is banned)?

I am absolutely certain that I provided the right email address though.

It is in fact absolutely necessary to change the password. If it's not accepting the one you are providing, then either you misspelled it upon opening the account, or you used a different one.

We do not currently have a solution for an inaccessible E-mail address, but are working on a solution for cases where the E-mail is missing entirely (very early players) or is malformed. However if it is a validly formed E-mail that is attached to the account, there won't be much we can do.

the thought that I missspelled my email upon accountcreation came into my mind aswell.

Unfortunately, I dont quite remember whether the activation email I recieved upon creating the account was put into spam and, after I clicked the link, got auto-deleted after some time, or there never was an activation mail to begin with.

I think I created the account around May 2015, were activation links sent to emails a thing around this time?

Is it possible to get into a personal chat with a GM (via Skype, TS or just PM) who can provide the email-address linked to my account? Even the first 4-5 letters may help me out.

On another note, I just remembered about my second account I created some time after my first one with my main character on (for extended itemslots, its a lv 1 char logged out in Orgrimmar).
The second account is banned aswell and one of my e-mails is actually linked to that banned account. (I could tell because the password recovery actually accepts the email).

Unbanning this account would be a second step, but fairly useless if I cant access the one with my main char on it, plus I only remember account name and PW, no Char-names
