Banned for mining, is it permanent?

by terrigurl » Tue Sep 15, 2015 5:12 pm

Hey, when I was away for about and hour and a half I got banned for "Thorium filon exploit in Silithus". Apparently GMs ban without even warning about the thing your doing is an exploit. Apparently mining in Silithus is an exploit.

Anyway, read about some other guys' ban notice on the site says "expires on" etc etc and that it was because it was permanent. Cause it has gone a couple of hours past said time.

Will this be lifted or is this shit permanent?

E - Permanent ban.: Most serious sanction. Permanent bans are rare but definitive. This sanction is applied in case of multiple violations of the rules, or after multiple account interruption, as well as any of the following:

Examples:

Abuse of major in-game bugs;

Yes but the time on your website says that the ban should have been lifted at 15:59 today and it has not. Why is that? I told you this in this post.

In case of permanent bans, the timer shows you when it was placed on your account. Due to time zone differences, that can occasionally show up as few hours in the future.

So what timezone is the ban based on? 15:59 in what timezone?

But I live in Sweden, by that time the ban should have been lifted by now? Does this mean that the ban is permanent?

Issues regarding respawn timers (and locations!)...once again.

Can we just make a blanket rule from now on? If you are clearly gaining some type of advantage from "abusing" coded respawn times, you get a day ban. At which time, Admin will correct the coding problem upon discovering it and move forward.

It is not reasonable to assume or expect that anyone knows what a legit respawn time (location) is. Why....How would anyone know, unless it's clearly messed up? Any honest or thoughtful person is operating under the assumption that respawn times are coded for a reason by Nostalrius. The honest assumption is that what exists on this server is a product of intention. This is geting little out of hand guys.

You are asking everyone to assume what they see with their own eyes is a mistake and should not be. You are asking everyone to be fearful of interacting in a world they assume is made the way it is supposed to be.

You guys are so thoughful in many ways, and then arbitrarily careless in others. I love you much, but please lets unban these people and do it the right way.

It had nothing to do with respawn times though. It was the respawn location.
The nodes respawned in the exact same location, after ~45 mins as per usual.

Considering the I_N_S_A_N_E number of hours most of us put on this it seems appropriate to give fair warning before a permanent ban. Especially for something so insignificant. They're not speedhacking or botting, yet they get the same treatment as if they were. How's that fair?
