Ban Appeal

Dear Nostalrius WoW Staff,

I'd like to address this appeal to the staff as much as to the community.

You see approx. 5 months ago I was an avid and active user of your well-enjoyable services:

Character Name: Illidan

I leveled up with the first few batch of players, enjoying the immersiveness as well as the community you offered.

At around level 37-38 a friend of mine (Character Name: Jerryblue) said he had found an "addon" great for cutting travel time in vanilla (the infamous time spent on travel idd.) and gullible enough I was to take his "addon" as he specified and opened it while the game client was on, sadly for me I realized too late that just one click of this as it was a hacking tool in the end, would teleport me anywhere my cursor was on map.

Immediately disconnected, played as If nothing happened though after reconnect, days later I found my Account Permanently Closed.

I'd like to request this of you, as sincerely I did not wish any harm to the community, no offense to you and I did not have a genuine intent of abusing your services, wish I had posted this earlier but IRL hit like a truck and priorities etc., now with spare time on my hands I wish if I could just return to this realm where honestly I feel innocent but at the same time so foolish.

I but ask as I've gained nothing, literally nothing of using this "addon" (ImbawowHack later I reserached and found out about it) to be given a second chance, there is no way around your anti-cheat and I'm glad of it, it's a way of reassuring us, the community of your viability and respect for our gameplay.

I see not how this would be considered particularizing or favoritism as you can look yourself into the info. behind my ban, everything I did on that character until then was 100% legit and I would've wished it be so after that one, sad click. If you punish your players so arduously even though you have countermeasures against all these abusers would wish to do, at least for those that are in the white yet seem in the grey could you give a second chance is all I ask.

He is right in what he is saying - I know its not what you want to hear but he is telling you the exact way it is going to go and the response you will get.

Exactly this. If you look around on this forum, you will find many cases exactly like yours OP.

1. Player downloads addon from Friend/Brother/Cousin etc
2. Addon is actually a hacking program
3. Player is permanently banned, claims to not know addon was actually hacking program
4. GM links part from ToU where all players are responsible for their own account

No. They will not give you your account back. You knew what you were doing, you just didn't think you would get caught. You even admit that you knew the name of the hack. ImbaWowHack. You knew what it was when you downloaded it. You knew what it was when you used it. You weren't decieved. It wasn't a mistake. Start a new account and follow the rules this time.

He is right in what he is saying - I know its not what you want to hear but he is telling you the exact way it is going to go and the response you will get.

Even if it was an honest mistake and their anti-cheat dealt wih it like a pro yet through their decision and by it i've consequently lost 10 days of my life in a sense, even if i could be of help to the overall community, as a connector, as an initiator as I've been before my ban.

They are human and they do understand, that is why the rule exists in the first place.
Should they have a dedicated team of GM's to unban accounts that just wanted to "try out hacking" for a bit? Of course anyone caught hacking is going to say they didn't gain anything, or it was an honest mistake.

In the terms of use it is clearly outlined that any form of hacking will result in a permanent ban. You hacked, you got banned. You are not going to get any special exceptions.

You were very gullible indeed. No addon can affect game play directly. Whether innocent or not, hacking bans should stay permanent.

That's it lol, I'll see who i can find for an unban think i'll be willing to pay around 20k euros, just because i want that account if that isn't enough for "nossus" i'll go up to 50k, why? because i can
