BANNED FOR ACCEPTING GLITCHED QUEST OCT 25?! *Resolved!*

hi, i was just recently banned for having quest items in my bag from a quest that was added earlier today (october 25). (was taken into GM island i also must note) i'm assuming this was the quest that was crashing the server. i dont understand why i was banned when i had no clue it was wrong to do. i would please like my account back. ive been playing the whole way up to 47 with 7 days of play time and to get it thrown all away because of a server bug seems very unreasonable. thanks.

Character name is dinkledorf (alliance dwarf rogue) on the pvp server (account name: brigsby)

NOTE: the specific quest i turned in was the alliance needs you thick leather donation quest from ironforge.

EDIT: I must add that I HIGHLY doubt most people caught up in this intended to "abuse" the quest. it was just a wrong place at the wrong time scenario. i can TOTALLY understand a ban from hacking, botting, spamming, gold buying, or gold selling. this however was a quest set up right in the game. right in front of me. After doing more research on the forum threads i've seen multiple other people banned for the same reason and not knowing it was a glitched quest. I must say this whole situation is such a mess.

The bugged quest was in Silithus so that wouldn't apply to you. My guess is the GM's have evidence of botting or something along those lines.

this is prolly not true i was also banned for doing in the turnin quest 3 times before i realized it crashed the server...

Tokar is friend and brother to Dinkledorf and have always known Dink to be playing as a duo with a friend of his who are probably the two most active contributors to guild chat and events.

Less accusations about things you have no way of knowing anything about. Take your cynicism elsewhere, if shenanigans were in play then justice will be done without need to satisfy any bloodthirsty mob.

Its so obvious that you were crashing the server, you turned it in and it crashs 1-2 seconds later. The fact that you did this more than once is pretty damning. World chat was making it obvious that the aq quest was crashing too.

With 6000 players online and new quests and content popping up in IF, there was zero chance that somebody wasn't going to go turn one in. Tossing out the permabans seems pretty heavy-handed to me.

Thank you for the words Tokar. I still cant believe i was perma-banned for something that was indirectly my fault. How was i supposed to know turning in the quest was crashing the server? i though it was just crashing over and over because there were so many logging on at once. and the comment about checking chat: nobody knew what was going on that i read from. i really need a GM to reply here and help me out. (from my stance, i had just leveled up and assumed it was a questline that i had unlocked, literally NO idea that it was something that wasnt supposed to be there. even if i knew it wasnt how is that my fault for doing it? i had no intentions of purposely crashing the server. ive had a wonderful experience on this server and planned to stay and enjoy it much longer. having everything thrown away over this seems really, really unjustified.)

There is a need to satisfy the mob: the players who were actually attempting to play without taking advantage of an obviously glitched quest/abusing bugs.
