Banned for Pet bugg. Review Please.

Banned for Pet bugg. Review Please.

by Moozart1337 » Sat Jan 16, 2016 1:59 am

I was playing Arathi Basin, Like I have since wednesday for several hours every day. I am currently in the process of going for higher ranks and I have the luck of being with some nice people that I enjoy playing with. Suddenly a GM whisperd me during one of my matches and said "You are going to be banned for 7 days, for buggabuse. This will act as a final Warning"

I have never been banned on a game before in my entire life, and I was so sure that this was one of those "scammers" that wants me to link my account and Password for it to be "unlocked" because I know I never will do anything that breaks the ToU. Then I saw the GM tagg and that one is hard to fake so I proceeded to ask why as I was sure that it has been a misstake. Then the GM (Sorry I forgot the name since I got msg + kicked in less then 10 minutes and I was so shocked) said I was "using" a bugg with Shadowmeld and pet. Apperently sometimes when I shadowmeld at the same time as my pet or something (I am still not even sure how this bugg even works!) my pet can be attacked but not Crowdcontrolled or something. I know it can be hit with white hits atleast because I have seen my pet being hit by people. And I need to exit Shadowmeld quite fast to be able to kill the one who is attacking my base. So I have not noticed anything weird about my pet. I think it's really hard to count this as a buggabuse when I was not even aware of it.

The only thing I have noticed has been a few pets of the horde side being tagged as "invalid target" but the horde side don't have shadowmeld so I just assumed I was lagging, and sometimes it worked just fine attacking them. So this has to be a general bugg with pets, not only with Shadowmeld as this GM told me. But since players were attacking my pet I did not really think more about it.

I always keep myself updated on forums aswell, just to see what is going on. Especially the Hunter Forums. I have not seen a single post about this bugg. I then asked why they don't have it announced so people don't get banned for doing something that they don't even know is in the game. The answer I got back is " We obviously do not announce bugs like this, because we dont want everyone to abuse it." Well one thing is for sure, if I would to actully have known this I would not even use my cat as a pet to be sure. If you don't have a post about it up. It should be sufficient to warn someone about it, as soon as I heard this I immediately exited my Shadowmeld and my pets Stealth.

TLDR Version: Got banned for a pet bugg that I didn't even know was in the game. The bugg has not been announced anywere so I think it is really unfair to recieve a bann for something that you didn't even know existed. If something is a bannable offense players should really be made aware of it so you don't get banned for something that you just do while playing the game normally.

If nightelves aren't allowed to use their racials anymore, can we please also agree on orcs no longer being allowed to resist stuns?

Should warlock dismiss the pet if i cant Counterspell it or kill it? Or should i report warlocks for not doing it, because its a unfair advantage for the warlock!

If this Bug appears randomly, or in a non-controllable manner, I don't see the point of banning players over it, since you don't have the time nor the attention to check the incomming damage on your pet in detail while being in combat in a battleground.
If this Bug is forceable through a certain routine or any other interaction, it's ofcourse exploiting. But to make sure it has been actively and intentionally abused in this case one should really look into the logs properly. Because I am sure you will then find, that in 99% of his flag-defending fights this player has not had a bugged pet, because he didn't even know about the bug, which should be evidence enough to proove that this is a case of an ingame bug appearing rather than an exploit being abused.
I am appealing to have this case revieved quickly because otherwise he will loose weeks of pvp efforts.

Greetings Moozie,

You were watched over several days, by multiple GMs who found you to be abusing this bug. Based on this, as well as the multiple player tickets against you, it is not possible that you did not know about the invulnerable pet bug, and it was clear that you were abusing it deliberately. We are tracking several other hunters as well who are abusing this bug.

We remind players that intentionally abusing bugs in order to achieve some kind of in-game gain will result in sanctions. If you discover something that seems out of place or too good to be true, open an in-game ticket and ask a GM about it. Don't just continue to abuse it.

Regards, GM Team.

You spend several days to watch hunters instead of simply telling them in one line that this bug exists and they should be careful about it? Interesting use of ressources ...

U do realise it litterally takes 1 sec for gm to TP through his "suspicious" list? and yes, that is also their job.
