Banned for mining, is it permanent?

and....not to be a smartass, but...I am trying to figure out decent ways to make gold. There are a couple of fish I am after right now that make ok gold...not the crazy thousands per week these guys are probably making. Now one of them was supposed to follw the cycles of the night and day, and so far I can't tell if there is any difference, although I've only been fishing it for two days now.

Am I supposed to go research the percentages of it's spawn rate day/night time and let you guys know if the current rate is blizzlike? Or is it supposed to be nostalriuslike and it's ok?

I am also fishing in azshara for an eel. Should I go research if the pools that spawn are supposed to be timed or are random?

Ya see what I mean?

Thousands? I don't know why you're thinking they made such numbers. Terrigurl (guildie of mine who got banned) had 400g to his name. He had been doing this "exploit" for weeks, yet his goldsum is comparable to what hunters made in a couple of hours of DMTrib soloing....

ok. are you here to try to find some type of semantics to argue about? geez.

Hi,

It is indeed a bug. The respawn pattern should not be deterministic. When a vein despawns, it may, or may not respawn afterwards, or another vein may respawn somewhere else.
You could not predict exactly when/where a vein would spawn on retail.

not the crazy thousands per week these guys are probably making

...and if the guy that is "abusing" the respawns of black lotus, in exactly the same fashion, is indeed telling the truth, and getting as many as 11 BL per day, that easily extrapolates to thousands per week. I never referenced you or your friend....or anyone.

I can understand wiping out all the gold they made, I can understand a 1-3 day ban even on top of that. But a permanent ban for just mining nodes without using any exploits or weird mechanics on a timer? Come on be reasonable nost

I'm sorry, I'm just trying to keep us on track.
They got banned for practically no reason. They had no noticable impact on the server economy, contrary to <insert basically any other efficient farming method>.
The thousand gold they made in a week, DMsolofarmers/bookfarmers made in a day. Yet no hunters are banned. Not saying hunters should be banned, just using them as a comparison of what has been done to "industrial standard" farmers in the past. Which is nothing.

Either way, this kind of thing scares me. I'd hate to lose my account. I've invested sooo much time in my account and knowing (based on Nost history) that I could lose it for .. well.. crafting a bandage the wrong way. Hence me having an interest in this discussion (other than a guildmate being permanently banned...... ...... for mining... not even underground)

There is one easy solution. Drop your gathering professions. I'm not even kidding. I dare not have a gathering profession anymore. God forbid you loot an item one time too many from the same spot 45 minutes later.

I read that someone said Thorium Veins should respawn randomly, which works as intended I believe. However, the nodes in the Hives are "Ooze covered" and SHOULD have a predictable spawn location.

I would like to see proof that these Ooze covered nodes should be random locations and not static ones. If they are working as intended then this would be yet another non blizz like change. and ultimately VERY unreasonable bans.

That's not sufficient. There is a consistent pattern of Nost GMs deciding that something is an exploit, and banning people who did it - after the fact. Sometimes it's a profession, sometimes it's a chests, or fishing, or queuing for AV using a vanilla API call (perfectly legit).

I've been here since Day 1 and read the ban threads every day to be sure I am not doing anything that could get my three lvl 60s banned (same account so I can't be accused of multi-boxing). But I'm honestly trying to decide whether to stay on this server. I feel like I could easily trip over something that later gets deemed a bug and get a permaban, as many people have.

In what way is playing in constant fear that something you do will get you banned... fun?

A million fucking times this. They're not exactly easy for everyone to get to, you know.

In the bottom of my heart i still thinks that there is a small chance that you admins get to your mind and unban us, i mean i had like 100g and no arcane crystals in my bank.. i mean come to your sense and unban us and warn us about anything we do wrong so we dont lose our hard work on the characters i mean i probabbly wont reroll again i dont wanna get banned for third time and lose all the hours ive spended in your server, but ban without a warning without even knowing that its a bug i just dont get it.
