BANNED FOR ACCEPTING GLITCHED QUEST OCT 25?! *Resolved!*

how was it an obvious bug? where did nostalrius post about it being a bug? if i saw any where on any social media site or was told other wise that it was a bug and to NOT accept or do any of the quests, by all means i wouldnt have. i highly doubt most people caught up in this intended to "abuse" the quest. it was just a wrong place at the wrong time scenario. i can TOTALLY understand a ban from hacking, botting, spamming, gold buying, or gold selling. this however was a quest set up right in the game. right in front of me.

Dinkledorf and I (Strybjorn - PvP server) have been leveling for the past month together, and i'm very upset to see this sort of thing happen. When we logged on last night (October 25) there were a host of new quests available in Ironforge. Apparently these quests were accidentally phased in and not suppose to be implemented yet. I must note that there was no indication within the game at the time that these quests were bugged or causing crashes to the server. They would have appeared identical to any other quest available to the player who was logging on.

I'm very disappointed in the way this situation is being handled. Players are being banned who have dedicated so much time, all because they unknowingly accepted a quest wrongfully implemented by Devs. It's ridiculous to think that players are actually being banned for accepting content that was put into the world...

This whole situation is a giant mess. I hope someone will sort it out and lift bans on players who do not deserve them. I hope they can learn from this and avoid an ordeal like this from occurring again in the near future.

This seems to be targeting most of the people who attempted the content (quest) in question. Hopefully this wave of bans was implemented to prevent players from unknowingly crashing the server ad infinitum so the issue could inevitably be resolved. Tokar not seeing any violations of game rules or TOS, so Tokar have faith that the GMs will remove this temporary fix for all the players who were affected, It may just take time to sort through and verify the situations one by one.

Yeah I agree Tokar, that would make sense. It does freak me out, however, how the GM that spoke to me in game interpreted me doing the quest as "hacking" or "abusing" the game or whatever. Basically gave me no chance to speak or defend my own case. It kind of scares me to think you can get permanently banned over something as silly as this. I DO understand now that it was a mistake for nostalrius to implement these quest-givers into the game, but I feel I should not be the one (as well as many others) getting punished for it.

Have faith Brother Dink, the management and developers at Nost know all to well the many trolls and rabblerousers who would seek to bring down and diminish their work and must remain vigilant!

The action taken was necessary thus Tokar stand firm on the side of right cause and just action, bans were necessary to stop players from repeatedly crashing the server so that the issue could be resolved. Tokar is confident players affected by this ban wave who seek resolution will have their petitions reviewed on a case by case basis like all others.

Tokar has seen Nost handle things very well in the past and would be surprised to see active members of the community permanently banned for attempting to play the game's new content with a glitch in the patch.

Terrible situation. I feel really bad for you and others who have been banned this way.

It puts a harsh dilemma on the admins. Some tough decisions to be made with no simple solution.

Yeah, thanks for the sympathy it really does suck... I'm hoping a GM replies soon but since there are many others in my same place, it will probably be a while until then.
