Creating a new account and starting all over again for the third time is not an option. Here is my story if you are interested.
I started to play the old WoW when BC was out. I made few chars and enjoyed the game. I then decided to make a rouge and twink it for fun. I created my character dzoljic gnome rouge on Aerie Peak and searched and obtained the right items I needed. I even had the Defender of the Timbermaw trinket on level 49. That was an awesome time (nostalgic).
After a while WOTLK came and with that heirlooms. Those items were way better and you could gain xp in battlegrounds so the fun was over. Years later a friend told me about Nostalrius. The first thing I thought was: "Nice! Now I can revive my rouge twink!" I started around august and made the character and searched for all the right gear again. I don't have a lot of time so I can only play a few hours a week or less. I was 48 and almost done with getting all the gear I needed. It was like the good old days.
I also had/have engineering and when i'm not in a dungeon or battleground I'm mostly mining mats to train my engineering . For like the 100th time I run across Tanaris to gather Thorium ore from small Thorium deposits. This time I came across a small Thorium deposit that din't disappear. I din't know there was a world wide bug and I din't know you could get a permanent ban (forgive me for never reading the terms, bad habit). I mined around 40 ores from that deposit only to melt them and make Thorium Grenade's. A friend of mine fished at a fishing spot that had a way too low respawn rate. When he was fishing there he got a warning telling him the spot was a bugged and there would be consequences if he continued fishing. He stopped immediately and could even keep the fish. I din't get any warning I had no chance at all. I got ores I was going to use for engineering and a permanent ban. No chance.
I get that there was a worldwide bug and they had to act quickly to make sure the economy wasn't going to fall apart. I only thought they would be a little more reasonable. A permanent ban for some ores seems way too extreem. All I wanted was to be taken seriously, and treated like my friend who did get a warning and chance. I wonder, what if there was no world wide bug and that deposit was the only one that was bugged would I also got a permanent ban? Or am I getting treated this way because they have to make a statement and make sure this never happens again? A sacrifice for the greater good. I never wanted to harm anyone. All I wanted was to train engineering, all I got was a hard punishment with no return. The frustrating part is that from all the players many will lie and I think that's why the staff is disregarding many posts by making a condition. I understand that. I only hope they would review my case and see that I'm no harm at all, just someone that wants to enjoy WoW like the good old days.
Thats why I made this post.
