Banned for mining, is it permanent?

I’m just another Nostalrius user and not personally involved in these events, but I thought I’d comment in support of unbanning these players, for what it’s worth. If I understand correctly, players were farming nodes that spawned at fixed times, and putting a lot of time into it. That doesn't seem like a bannable offense to me. If the fixed time/place of spawn was the bug, it doesn't seem to be an obvious one. These players probably should've received some kind of warning first...but what's done is done -- so could the admins please reconsider their response? That, or someone can correct me if I've misunderstood.

Just want to clear up the confusion as to how the nodes worked "pre-fix".

Silithus has 3 different hives. Every hive has 3 different caves. As far as I know the amount of veins were this.

Hive'Regal (southern hive): 6 different veins, 2 in each cave. Most of them guarded by level 60-61 elite mobs.
Hive'Ashi (northern hive): 13 different veins, most of which were not guarded by any mobs This was the place in which most of us were farming.
Hive'Zora (western hive): 9 different veins, some guarded, some not.
(note: you could not get to these veins without killing elite mobs if you did not have stealth, however with certain gear you could easely kill these mobs as a mage or geared warrior(monkeynews).)

Each of these veins had their own 45-minute reset so if you went there and started mining all these nodes, you could do it in that pattern every 45 minutes.

This is exactly how it worked. Hope this clears up things for some people, because I've seen some say that we're not telling the full story etc.

All of this talk about farming things on an "industrial level" cries out to me that the Nostalrius staff want people to play the game their way and ONLY their way. If someone wants to spend 16 hours of their day farming gold, should they not reap the rewards of this? MMOs are inherently "grindy" in nature meaning that people who dedicate more time have an advantage over those who do not.

It's seems like the stance being taken by the staff here is "Okay guys, feel free to farm this to make gold, but don't make TOO much gold, or we'll permanently ban you. We won't tell you how much gold is too much though. Good luck!"

They couldn't have handled this worse if they tried, complete cock up.

If they really dont consider to unban these players it will be a very big mistake from the staff side, considering they are handing bans just like that is just ruining the prestige of the server and the competence that the admins are showing.

When you try to get rich, you will also at some point risk ban for "Gold Trafficking"

They probably won't, not even sure if they are monitoring this forum post. Doesn't seem like they care at all, don't even have the common decency to communicate to their player base.

At least one of them is reading the forums at any time, I've been told that via gm ticket. So I guess they are discussing this as the thread didn't receive a standard "you have been banned for blah permanently, make a new account according to tou".

It's really scary though, as Thefilth said earlier, considering how much time some people have spent on their account on this server. Not sure how much time you had but I "only" had like 20 days played on my rogue. You probably had lots more and by banning us they literally make all time spent a complete waste.

Don't think they ever have or ever will lift a permanent ban that was not justified. One can hope though.

Hell i am not even considering rerolling as an option i demand an unban because those ban waves were completely not in place. I wont reroll for a third time fk that.
