If you think that the supply of certain item will drop because of there being a different amount of people farming them then you are wrong, silithus isn't the only place to farm arcane crystals.
No, please pay attention. What I am saying is that I've tested the new spawn rates. They changed the rate from a fixed 45 minute respawn timer on a tapped node, to a random respawn rate. But that random respawn rate looks to be a 45 min to something like 1.5 hours.
That means the mean respawn rate seems to have increased. We have a couple people who have sat on nodes, and noted that they don't respawn earlier than 45 mins, it's always later.
If the mean respawn rate is now over an hour, that means that there are fewer nodes to mine, and fewer arcane crystals being put into the economy. That will cause the price to rise.
From what I am seeing it's not a small adjustment, it's quite a big one. I've made several trips around Silithus today, and not found a single live rich vein. This is dramatically different from when the industrial farmers were farming - even with them doing that I could still find a vein here and there.
The fact that in 1 day the average price has risen from about 16g to 20g is probably the start of an inflation trend. I don't know how high it will go of course.
