Cannot log into account, just changed password so confused

I use a couple of seperate accounts so i decided to change the password so they weren't the same anymore for security purposes, about 5 minutes later I try to log back into the account and it says wrong password, so i keep trying and now it says account locked.


Is this because of so many failed attempts? tried to do a password reset through the website but I registered the account like right at the start and don't know if I actually linked an email to it or which I would have used if I did as I have many throwaways.

The account associated with the character Atomanich is currently not banned. There's a security measure that temporarily IP ban users who consistently attempts to login with incorrect credentials. The duration varies depending on how many attempts occurred and increases on further failures. Users can recover their lost password by going here. This feature becomes available when the account has been offline for 10 consecutive days. Please note that we do not recover lost accounts.

I understand the password cannot be retrieved I would just like it to be reset to the original and I can deal with that.
