Banned by anti-cheat system

Was banned by the anti-cheat system for using hack, this was by mistake.
I was at the time farming the Savage Gladiator Chain in BRD and was wating for the 5 instances/hour timer to go out and was about to fool around on another server (not on nostalrius and one that allows hack, just for fun) while I waited. When I started the hack and choose which process to use it on I apperently choose the one on Nostalrius instead. When I tested the 5instances/timer I noticed it began to swin in air and got instant DC and a message that the account was not available anymore. Checked account on the site and there havent appeared a reason yet, but I think I know why.
There was no reason for me to use hack while farming in BRD cause it only take 2 min to go to the ring of law and another 4-5min to clear the ring and then start over, so wouldnt make the whole farming process easier or faster. Never intenden to use the hack and haven't thought of using it on nostalrius.
Would appreciate to have my ban tested and checked on, I myself think it is a stupid and unfortunate ban.
Cheers

Greetings Kirath,
Your account has been banned for hacking and it is a permanent ban with no chance to appeal it, you will have to make a new account and level a new character.
Best regards,
Nostalrius GM Team.

Well this is a big disapointment. If I've ever seen a false ban this is one. And there is not even like a investigation or anything. If you would look at the positioning of my character, his inventory and his activities the hour/hours before the ban, even days before the ban (been farming it for a while) you can see evidence that will back up my story.
I think it's good that the anti-cheat system works that well and instant, but in some casses to permanent ban with NO chance of appeal is immoral. I might deserve a punishment for stupidity but you caught the wrong man this time.
Already have maxleved alts on the server and will probably continue playing, but you kinda took away their father and ruined a perfecly happy family life. I hope you will reconsider and actually look at the evidence before smashing the ban hammer so hard on ignorant bystanders.
Cheers

Having a hack on your computer, using it while being online on Nost isnt the brightest thing to do. Next time erase your hacks and you might not get detected using hacks.

I agree, to bad I'm too ignorant and lazy to think about that at the time

I'm accually gonna bump this because I'm really not satisfied how my case was handled. I think it deserves way more than just an automatic message from one of the volunteered GMs
And for the record, is still doesn't say anything on my account about the ban. You should have that looked on cause I believe it can save you alot of time in some cases.

First of all we do not give copy/paste responses since we always need to check the account in question regarding what reason you are banned for.
But the truth of the matter is that you used a hack on the Nostalrius server and you got caught by the anti cheat system and got banned for it. If it was intentional or not only you can know, but we cannot.
And it doesen't really matter how much you have played on Nostalrius if you break the rules you will receive the same treatment as any other player.
If you feel this response is inadequate sorry but we do not have time to dilly dally with players who are unhappy about a ban.
Best regards,
The GM Team.

You haven't been IP banned, you still got the opportunity to start fresh and follow the rules in the future.

This is a private server and people who play here likely have played or are playing on other private servers too, some of which are made for fooling around with with hacks and whatnot.
This is a misstake that is entirely his own fault but which is also quite easy to happen.
Now you are right in saying that you cannot know if he's telling the truth or not but then it comes down to the likelyhood of him not telling the truth and that how long he's been playing and his activity durring that time is highly relevant.
He:
has been playing since the server openned.
has a large amount of playtime.
has no prior offenses.
has dedicated a large amount of time to rank in pvp.
has Eye of Sulfuras.
etc
The likelyjood that such a person would simply decide to start using a hack on a server that is known for having a very good anti cheat in place is objectively low.
Having strict rules for punishing hackers is a good thing but you should also take into account that sometimes misstakes happen and that should be why you have this section on the forums to sort that out and find a solution that everyone can agree on.
In the end there was no damage done to the server or anything gained since the anti cheat detected it immediately.
A 1-2 week suspension with a warning that if something similar were to happen again it would result in a perm ban would have been a better way to handle this. It would send a clear message that punishment is required since rules were broken but also that you acknowledge that misstakes can happen and unless you have indications that the person is lying you can be understanding and find a balanced response to the situation.
Might be something worth discussing at the next GM meeting.
Best regards,
Saitan
