Banned for mining

Banned for mining

by nonsense » Tue Sep 15, 2015 4:31 pm

Greetings. My account was banned for mining. I've used my rogue to mine for quite some time now. The exact reason for my ban is - "Silithus: Ooze Covered Rich Thorium Vein respawn time exploit". This method of mining existed and was popular in actual vanilla. This is not an exploit. Is this ban permanent? Are you going to ban anyone who mines in Silithus? This is not Blizz like.

Character name - Truxal

Just got banned for the exact same thing... Also wondering if it's permanent?

Don't post your account name. Post character names.
The level of whining about bans on the forums is at an all time industrial level.

E - Permanent ban.: Most serious sanction. Permanent bans are rare but definitive. This sanction is applied in case of multiple violations of the rules, or after multiple account interruption, as well as any of the following:

Respawn time exploit? Were you mining each node more than once every 45 minutes?

This is actually worrying to me because I used to farm there, and will return soon, but I never did any sort of exploits. I just figured out the pattern of them respawning and picked them once every 45 mins.

I've also never done any sort of exploits. I went in a pattern and mined each node every 45 minutes.

Something's missing here. Lots of people have been doing this for months.

Did the same thing, also killed you a couple of times. :D Also got banned, not sure if it's permanent or not since the time of expiration has been passed by a couple of hours.

Hi,

It is indeed a bug. The respawn pattern should not be deterministic. When a vein despawns, it may, or may not respawn afterwards, or another vein may respawn somewhere else.
You could not predict exactly when/where a vein would spawn on retail.

If there are other nodes bugged (mining or herbs), it is an exploit and it needs to be reported on the bugtracker.

You realize the ooze covered veins are not the same as normal mineral veins and don't have random spawn locations and there is a tiny amount of them compared to regular veins.
