Banned for "scamming"

My horde warrior has been banned for scamming on 9/10/15. I was wondering if a mod could provide any insight into this? I know the reason this occurred is because I mistakenly traded the wrong item to another player that has a very similar icon as the one I advertised. I acknowledge that I made a mistake and dispute that the severity of my mistake does not warrant a permanent ban on an account I have been playing since launch. We are talking weeks of game play I have devoted to this server. A sleepy mistake should be allowed to be corrected, it does not warrant unjustly deleting something someone has spent countless hours working on. Thank you.

This kind of ban I can support, if you had made an honest mistake you would have IMMEDIATELY given back the gold or traded over the correct item. The fact that you didn't speaks volumes about your intent

You were COD scamming Small Lustrous Pearls and saying that they were "Righeous Orbs". The only mistake you made in your scamming was a spelling mistake.
