character: kurzol 55 mage
Yesterday I got banned for apparently botting, I believed that it was caused by me trying to get my macro's and my broken addon to work which was meant to refresh the AH so I didn't have to click the search button and could just click a key instead as my fingers were hurting. I did this yesterday for a few hours while watching a film clicking the button over and over again and when I came back the next day having gone to sleep I was banned for 'botting' so today I decided to do it again on a new account so I made a lvl 5 rogue and took it to the AH and used it for another 3hrs as a test to see whether it would be banned or not turns out it doesn't get banned which then leads me onto the reason why i could have potentially gotten banned for botting a few days ago my account was recently hacked and all my gold was taken off it (posted in forums no help given or reply's) I therefore have to assume it was the hacker on my account that did something that constituted as botting and has got my account banned. So please can i get my account unbanned please. I'm not stupid enough to bot on my own account when it gets you perma banned after spending 1month of playing to get it up to that lvl with my profs

Sorry to be the bearer of bad news mate but there will be no way whatsoever they will unban your account.

The TOC states that you are responsible for your account and its security (Basically if its hacked and you lose it or it gets banned - You wont get it back)

I am only saying this as I did not want you to waste anymore time trying to get it back - Many have before you and not one did.

Still going to try atleast and get my account back because some stupid hacker decides to ruin my account with hacks after I've spent the best part of the month getting the account to that level

Mate you've just set the definiton of what is botting and why it should be banned in a very naive way. Thats the exact point of banning macros and auto-clicks. If you dont want to play the game just logout ad watch your movie, but while doing other stuff while checking AH via third party tools is totally unfair towrds the 'actual ' players.


Summary: If you play the game while not playing it, it is botting.

Refreshing the auction house doesn't actually do anything for me though apart from allow me to spot any good deals that arise so i still have to interact with it and anyway i did it on another character and it didn't get banned so its obviously not a bannable offence

Your auto-clicker gives you chance to focus on other things while you gather info? Yes.

You buyout cheap or reasonable priced goods with this info updates for which you show no effort? Yes.

You make profit from these deals which would not known to you if you couldnt reach the refreshed AH via autoclicker? Yes.

You admitted to using auto-clicker. That's considering automation, ie a bot.
