Ban Appeal
Posted: Fri Sep 25, 2015 12:15 amHi, I would like to appeal on behalf of my playing partner Igitur (Character name: Sosotris/Gaudeamus); sorry if this is a bit of a rant.

I'm hesitant to make this post, as I know more posts = more work and I don't want to infringe upon the rule against excessive posting, but I find it difficult to hold my tongue. If I'm being honest, her ban is incredibly frustrating, but ultimately I respect the fact that this is a free private server and the GMs work hard to provide an otherwise wonderful experience at no cost. The fact is that from our perspective, we both downloaded the client linked to on the official nostalrius page, left it untouched, played casually for many months, and now she has been banned for >2 weeks for a reason completely unknown to us. It's just very hard to swallow, repeatedly seeing "You have been banned for hacking" as the only reason given, without any clue as to what that means, or how to avoid the same thing happening if we make a new account. If the GMs could tell her what she did that looked like hacking, I suppose I would reluctantly accept it, but as things stand now I can't quite let it go.
Again, I know that ultimately the GMs don't owe us anything, and we do appreciate their efforts and that we were able to play the game as long as we did. But currently, it feels like we waited patiently for the GMs to attend to something that was surely a mistake (someone with the same complaint as hers got their ban lifted recently), only to be met with a locked thread and a declaration the "hacking" was something else and that the ban will stick. I know that feeling unjustly banned is not uncommon, but when I read this
