Character Name: Kachomp
Server: Nost begins pvp realm

Hello, I was just playing and was disconnected. I went to log back in only to find out my account was banned. I don't use racial slurs, hacks, spam, or anything like that. I honestly have no idea why my account was banned. I read the post in the forums, logged into my account on the home page, and it does not say why my account was banned only that "Your account has been banned permanently". I also read all the things under "our rules" and I didn't violate any of them.

There are only two things that I can think of as to why this occurred:

1. I sent a mail to one of the annoying streamers that was spamming trade chat with his stream and I told him to stop being an effing dbag spamming trade chat and to stop streaming nost for fear of the server being shut down.

2. I made a deal with a friend of mine to get enough gold to purchase my mount. I was to trade him the 14 stacks of feathered arrows I had accumulated by sitting in desolace for hours on end buying them off people who were turning in the quest "stealing supplies" along with all my stacks of gold&silver bars/ore, a bunch of mithril, and a TON of greens to d.e. which were on my banker alt's (same account). You can check my banker alts and my main toon and you will see that I have all the materials that were to be traded. Many are in the mailbox but they are all there. I just got my mount last night, ran rfd with my guildie's and logged off. I logged on this morning to check my talents (was about to turn in the mage quest for the awesome wand and was debating switching to frost from fire), and to find all the items I promised to send him for the gold he sent me when I was dc'ed. When I tried logging back in it stated my account was banned.

I was talking to my friend on skype about fire or frost dilemma when I found this out. Needless to say he is also upset because now he will not be able to get the feathered arrows, gold silver and mithril bars, and all my boe greens I promised him for his enchanting.

Please let me know why this occurred, and what I can do to fix it. Like I said I've never been toxic, used any hacks/mods/bots/illegal addons, (I only have questie and gatherer) , and I am freaking out hardcore. I have offered gold in game if an item were to drop in dungeons but I don't think that's against the tos....
Please help me!!!

Thank you for your time and assistance.

Okay, can you please explain to me me how trading = gold trafficking? I know you guys are busy and have a lot to manage I just don't understand and would like some clarification as to why I was banned. Also my guildy who is lvl 60(not that level matters) that I made the trade with did not receive a ban, so needless to say I'm very confused. If you could help clarify this situation I would greatly appreciate it.
TY for your time!

Please read the following post below, and reply to that one down here \/

I know you guys are busy and have a lot to manage, I just could really use some insight into my ban instead of a blanket statement.

Is it because I bought all the feathered arrows off players in desolace?

Is it because I didn't send my part of the trade yet?

Also when I say the gold I was going to give him, I mean gold bars and ore, not actual gold in game.

From what I've read from other posts gold trafficking is from using bots or exploits to get gold in an illegal manner that was not intended or natural from normal game play. Everything item I have I recived from actual game play. I mined every single gold/silver/mithril node, I purchased the feathered arrows from every individual player after they turned in the quest stealing supplies. All the boe's were picked up from dungeons.

Was the gold I received obtained through an illegal method? And if so, how am I supposed to know this when trading? I just feel like I got the short end of the stick on this one. Like I said earlier I have never been toxic, used any bots, or done anything of the like against the tos.

I'm sure everyone who is banned tries to play innocent, but if you look at my logs and toons you will see that the only addons I use are gatherer and questie. I mined every single node myself, completed (or attempted to complete) every quest either by myself, with guildys, or with others that were doing the quest as well. The only thing that one could consider gold farming is going on 2 sm cath runs with a 60 shadow priest and his little brother who was a level (38?) undead mage. In fact that's where I got my new +fire spell damage gloves from. Hopefully you will have the time to look into this and see that I've never used any bots for leveling/gold/whatever it is bots and hackers do. I don't know how the coding works but I think it would be pretty easy to spot a hacker/bot vs a human playing.

Thank you for your time and consideration, I will patiently await for further explanation.

Hi,

I just double checked this ban and it is confirmed.
Gold Trafficking is having unauthorized gold transactions (for example buying or selling gold for real money in 80% of the cases). As a reminder, there is no shop on Nostalrius, so if you bought gold, it falls into this category for example.

I'm trying to get my head around this, actually. If OP is telling the truth, he simply borrowed gold from a friend (but that's a common lie to cover up buying gold from a Chinaman). As far as I can see from the rest of his story, the transaction consisted exclusively of in game items/services for other in game items/services on the same server, which is allowed.

It's impossible for us readers of the forums to determine for ourselves if cases like this one is just a desperate attempt to salvage an account caught buying gold, a person who got his account compromised and thus correctly banned even though he doesn't know it or a GM mistake.

Because of this uncertainty I'd never make a suspicios looking trade without first giving the GMs a heads up via a ticket. The response will generally just be a short "transactions between friends are ok as long as..." without them clearly stating that the specific transaction you are about to make is fine, but it still feels a lot safer to have the GMs know about the transfer of gold before it happends rather than after a ban has been issued.

Topics like this make me paranoid.

If the admins simply made cases on the op's stories, people would be getting away with a lot of stuff
