question about the many banned accounts

Dear GM team,
Could you explain why you would permanently ban so many accounts of people who enjoy WoW so much. Sure people have to learn and there have to be rules, but a permanent ban for one mistake? People spend so much time in a game and because a major bug you stop the fun for 150 people. People learn from mistakes and most people will, given the chance, correct their error. The way this is handled people din't get a chance at all. Some people din't have a chance to delete their items since they weren't online. I hope there could be an alternative punishment because now I feel like there is a death penalty for taking money that fell out a ATM.
Kind regards,
Huyana/Dzoljic

V. Permanent ban
Abuse of major in-game bugs;
https://en.nostalrius.org/terms-of-useTo answer your question, they are simply applying the rules you are supposed to have read & agreed on.
You already get a 2nd chance since you're allowed to create a new account and keep playing here.

Hey thanks for replying,
I think you mean IV. Cheating/Unlawful part A? It says:
Cheats; methods to influence and/or facilitate the game-play, including exploits of any existing in-game bugs, and thereby granting you and/or any other user an advantage.
It also says:
Nostalrius staff may suspend or close any account if you violate, or assist others in violating, the sections set forth below.
So i'm still wondering why the hard measure since not everyone sold or used the mats and had the chance to right their wrongs.
I know there should be punishment since the "law" has been violated, but I still think a permanent ban is too much punishment. They could also suspend players for a period of time they seem fit.

Huyana

You go out. find a bug. exploit this and keep silent. Profit by it. Yes. Abusing.
Every single ore and herb in game bugs and people get excited and pick/mine it. then stop when system message is announced= exploiting? my first thoughts? I though "wow a xmas event or something! (yeah call me idiot) I meant fucking hell, it was on xmas.. and it was "dynamic respawns" WTF that supposed to mean??
(I mined a thorium vein for 3min then stopped after considering this was a bug. I didnt carry on for the 20-30min this bug was existing)
So the people who where already out in the map mining and picking herbs, hey you touched a herb? or sorry didnt get time to delete the evidence??? GTFO our server you Chinese scum!!
Shit I read 7 people here (including me) who got banned all because they didnt know to delete the EVIDENCE but instead they opened a GM ticket to ask for advice.... dumb idiots yeah?
Hacking? = Full knowledge of abuse.
Botting? = Full knowledge of abuse.
Gold Trafficking? = Full knowledge of Abuse.
Exploiting a bug without informing a GM or Bugtracking and thereby gaining unfair advangate of it? = Full knowledge of Abuse
Exploiting a bug unknowingly (or hoped it a xmas fucking gift from Nost) till you already picked multiple items, then you open a ticket requesting guidance? Nobody replies so you decide to wait until you get a reply from a GM or find a post on the forums prior to proceeding? = Full knowledge of abuse? BULLSHIT!
Yeah... this is rule enforcement man...
Hey and so far, there are about +40 players who fit this description. All cause they didnt delete the items. Unlike the 300+ players still in game who did the exact same thing, but they got a GM to respond to their ticket telling them to delete the items.
So, Banned every single person then to picked a herb/ore in those 40min, otherwise this system is broken as shit. Comon GM's over 40 people you punishing cause they didnt know to delete the items and instead asked "GM ... what should I do??"

150 players decided to abuse a bug. 150 players got banned. There were thousands of other players online at the same time that decided not to abuse this bug, they are not banned. Why should the players that abused this bug and do not meet the criteria to successfully appeal be allowed to continue playing?

Did you count all the players who had time to delete the items in this bags after 24hrs and now are perfectly fine and are not counted amongst the banned players? I know a lot of people who escaped the ban due to this.
Unlike players banned in the first 3hrs? Some players who had tickets open asking GM's what to do with the items they looted.
lol.. I saw 30+ people in ungoro alone mining 6 nodes.. 150ppl. lol!!!

I'm sorry to say but you're being exceptionally stupid mate.
You have mined over 200 veins in order to get to the skill level where you can mine thorium, so you know how nodes are supposed to work, you must have been aware of the bug happening.
"BUT... BUT CHRISTMAS PRESENTS" you say? Do you honestly believe the GMs would suddenly give the people unlimited thorium and black lotuses etc to completely obliterate the economy after 10 months of servertime where people played insane amount of hours just to get a few stacks of mats?
Use your ability to think instead of reacting like an animal to whatever is infront of you in order to get short term gains. You got no one to blame but yourself.

Hey Glanzig,
As I said before, some people had no chance to right their wrongs. Everyone was treated the same way, not all the cases were the same. My point is, everyone should get punishment for violating the terms of agreement, everyone knew they were wrong, but the punishment that was given is irreversible and too hard. I din't get a second chance to make it right.
For many this was one mistake. How many would understand that what they did could ruin the WoW economy? How many would even know what the consequences would be? Not many. Most people live in the moment and only think: "Nice many ores or herbs I can farm." Only later they realize the consequences.
Many people shall be very, very grateful and accept a temporary suspended account. I think many won't ever abuse bugs again. Too bad some will, and if they do, they should be punished very hard. But why treat those people the same as others who won't ever abuse bugs again.
Regards,
Huyana
