I am sorry but NOST staff are dropping the ball on this one BIG time you should reconsider you incident handling because ban wave like that would only make people frustrated, first came the ban wave for gold trafficking and people were locked out of their accounts for days even though they had done nothing wrong and all they got from you guys is a sorry -_-. Now with this herb/ore bug instead of being ready and having a safety net like a ROLLBACK READY BEFORE restarts or patches that would be GREAT.

The problem is the patch was live for a few days without any issues. But suddenly after an unrelated server restart things started to go wrong. This leads me to believe a rollback was not possible (you don't make server backups for a restart).

They had to chose one of three options, each worse than the other:
- Do nothing. Let people get away with bags full of thorium ore and black lotus'es
- Do a rollback since patch was released (more than two days ago)
- Stop exploiting by issuing a server warning, and ban all abusing after this server message.

Nostalrius chose the last solution, which meant people abusing bug until the server message was sent really do have a chance to be unbanned.

So instead of just complaining - what do YOU think they should have done?

As a sidenote I dont fully agree with the ban appeal policy:
some people did not have the chance to delete their obtained ore/herbs, and can't therefore fullfill all four unban criterias. If the amount of ore/herbs was reasonable low (e.g. max 4 stacks), and the ore/herbs was not traded (still present on the farming character), then I would say criteria was still fullfilled - with the mats being deleted afterwards ofcause. But that's just my opinion - Nostalrius decided otherwise and I respect that.

I am not banned I am just pissed about people getting banned (friends, guild mates, ...) and if they don't have backup before the restart then they should start doing that it is the safe thing to do. and to be honest the ban waves are so random I know many people who abused the bug are still playing.

All Nost lost is a bunch of exploiters.

it should be clear by now that abusing exploits isn't a good choice, which is good for the server in the long term

false positive bans will be minimised within the next weeks, however some will remain which definitely isn't desirable but impossible to change

its actually not impossible to change at all, nost staff fucked up -- they need to put it in the work and sort it out themselves instead of screwing people out of months of playing their server with kneejerk permabans to a majority of people who were gathering at the time they screwed up the server

all their actions here do is prove how inept they are at running a server, but i think we already knew that anyways. i guess they know we can't think less of them as it is. can't wait for corecraft

I doubt they have as detailed logs as retail has

and sorry to break it to you, but CC won't be as perfect as you expect it to be

So everyone should just be able to get away with basically doing whatever they want and never have to worry about getting banned. Something something back to retail.
